Yesterday when windies lost flurry of wickets and when they declared. He was whining how momemtum has shifted and SL look really happy and Windies has lost the initiative, blah blah blah. I wanted to pull my hairs out. They had 580 runs on the board, you don't lose game by score that many. You can only win the game from here. Jeez looks like decade of losing left, right and center has taken toll on Tony Cozier.

well maybe last series in lanka is still on his mind. On a different subject, cricket seems pretty popular in windies looking at their fans website , this, but they dont seem to be producing match winning bowlers. raw pace is still there though, in the form of roach, edwards and taylor. And the typical windies flair is also pretty much present in current generation (gayle, bravo, pollard etc)

Not at all surprised' date=' what i have known little of him watching cricket from the late 90's he was always a whinner.[/quote']That's coz you've known him only sincve the late 90s. He is actually the voice of WI cricket. He is an amazing commentator and his "whining" / pessimism that you notice is only a decade old because, as someone else noted too, WI have been losing a lot. He hails from a time of the 70s and 80s, so it is understandable why he is so pessimistic these days.

^Yes I agree. One can become pessimist. But your team just smashed home team and scored 580 runs. He was even worried about 2nd and 3rd Test and wondering how will their players tackle Mendis. I was like LOL...lets finish this test first. They can very well win this one...

That sez a lot about how WI have played in the last 10-15 years that even in a relatively comfy position or winning one, he is entertaining ideas of defeat :winky: But I love his accent man! Especially the way he pronounces 'tia'...he pronounces it like 'shtia'. ex - Scotia Bank he pronounces it like Scoshtia Bank. He was a very good commentator, especially good with anecdotes and all...amazing chap!
