No what is really funny is that while Ind. fans who take great pride in referring to the neighbouring fans with "head stuck in sand" syndrome are themselves unable to reconcile with the fact that India has not yet won a test series in Aus. and SA and their biggest test is yet to come. Ofcourse resorting to cricketing logic and overlooking rankings will elude the starved for success Indian fans from orgamsic feeling of calling themselves the "best" in the world. I, also want that feeling, except after we become the very best.

So? At least their head is not stuck so far in the sand to understand the simple logic that if there are 10 teams competing, or 10 students taking an exam there is always a number 1. That number 1 is called the 'best'. When some other team or student overtakes the incumbent they become number 1 or the 'best'. Have you ever studied in a school in India? Wasn't there a number 1 ranked student in the class?

Btw what agenda ? While the ranking are not perfect, a team that sucks still sucks and at No.8 is down to its lack of wins, which is far cry from saying that the team at the top is undisputably No.1 team in the world. Lets not use the rankings, if you like, NZ team will still suck. Clearly you did not follow my points on No.1 team status.

It is intellectual dishonesty of the highest order to use a ranking system in your arguments, which you do not trust even to the extent where a 13-20 point gap in it has any relevance for India being number 1 over the nearest competitors. No, I am averse to idiocy. I like to believe in simple logic and the answer to the question - is India the best team in the world based on the results over the last 2-3 years or so? If you think there is any other team which has been better than India, please say so with reasons. If not, do not give me the crap about 'undisputed', 'no great bowler' blah blah blah. By the way, I am sure you would have enjoyed the aggressive captaincy by Smith against Pakistan. I specially loved the way in which South Africa attempted to set a target to Pakistan by batting at 2 runs per over for stages in their innings.
