ravishingravi Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Sir, there is little doubt that under your captaincy, India has witnessed the most successful era of test cricket. However, as time wears by one can't help but ask how much of it was down to the great team you inherited and how much down to your captaincy. You know things are not right when you are ranked No.1 team in the world playing against No.8 team in the world and have them 5 down in one session, have two players who are basically playing on one leg ( injured ) who can barely hobble for a single and yet you keep 5-6 fielders on the boundary. Now, it could be that sometimes in the future, I could see these tactics of placing the fielders on the rope if batsman even remotely middles one ball as blinding genius. But at this moment, I never thought I would say this, I agree with BS Bedi and also Warne. Your captaincy sucks with no qualifications attached. Just a matter of time, before the greats leave the scene and there will be more jumping on the bandwagon. I can only pray for SA. . And I am not even talking about your batting. PS:- I do wonder why India's "best coach ever" doesn't have a word or two with you. I know you are tired and are not able to think clearly although no pushed you to play the champions league. Surely Gary Sir should be able to see this.
fineleg Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 play the champions league. Surely Gary Sir should be able to see this. He cant resist I.Pu.L. and C.L. :winky:
don_corleone840 Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Both batsman are inforrm batsman soo pls stop wumming.
bhanu Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Overeaction! lol so true some ppl r jus so weak :finger:
King Tendulkar Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 I must admit. Since we had them 4 or 5 down, Dhonis cpataincy has been tragic
ravishingravi Posted November 20, 2010 Author Posted November 20, 2010 Both batsman are inforrm batsman soo pls stop wumming. Yup, 2 batsman in top form on one leg is a recipe for disaster.
saneindian Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 LOL 125/7 and yet some people can't stop moaning!!
Andy Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Sir Dhoni will be Put to test in SA series, we'll get away against a side like Kiwis.
ravishingravi Posted November 20, 2010 Author Posted November 20, 2010 Overeaction! Not as much as Dhoni who will send all his fielders on the ropes if batsman hits a couple in the middle. Ryder must feel like Richards. Overreaction would be based on one instance. I have seen this for couple of years esp. after ODI series loss which we lost purely because of his captaincy.
Ranjha Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 So far so good...Cant complain much about Dhoni on day 1 and I am a big critic of his. 125/7 the idiots here wont be happy if Nz was 10/7.

It was better to cut the boundaries..You cant let Ryder and Mcculum get away when they are injured and can only run 1 run max...this puts the pressure right back on them. I think it was a very sound tactic and what it cost us a 50 run partnership....booo hoooo big deal
Ranjha Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 just cuz they are injured, doesnt mean they are sitting ducks...there has been numerous instances of injured players putting a price tag on their wicket and playing some special innings. these 2 are class players against India..just check their records. stop moaning and whining like some of you are on ur period.

Care to enlighten us please which ODI series was this? Oh and BTW during exactly those two years when MSD has been committing the crime of being a poor captain team India has remained almost unbeatable!! Another thing, how many if the catches went to the short mid wicket, short cover, 2nd slip fielders? Wonder where those guys came from when if one was to believe you, they were all on the boundary line!!
DomainK Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 How the fate of an Indian cricket star changes. As soon as your tactics dont work a few times, there will be thousands telling you how to do your job.
The Dark Horse Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Dhoni is unquestionable:protest: How dare u....:D
ZodiaC Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 Another thing, how many if the catches went to the short mid wicket, short cover, 2nd slip fielders? Wonder where those guys came from when if one was to believe you, they were all on the boundary line!! Agreed except this - when you give easy singles and ask - "how many catches went to slip" etc, it makes no sense IMO.
vaibhav_delhi Posted November 20, 2010 Posted November 20, 2010 LOL 125/7 and yet some people can't stop moaning!! Lol correct.
