Don't think he needs practice to adapt in subcontinent conditions. Especially in India.

Boy, Yuvraj's fall from grace has been pretty dramatic. From being India's premier ODI bat + first choice test no.6 only a few months ago, he has been relegated to a Grade B central contract, apart from seeing two players far more junior than him (Raina, Gambhir) made captain of the ODI team.

I hope he let the bat do all the talking when time comes.....cant wait!

Weird!!! IMO, it should be other way round. Dhoni should be rested from Tests and play ODI full time. Dhoni is replaceable in tests, Sehwag can be good captain in tests - if he does not let it affect his batting.

dont question dhoni...hes the bestest in the whole wide world....he is the master tactician...there is surely a big reason behind it.

hope he does that but little he has played in Ranji trophy,he has given no indications he will do that

I dont think its case of BCCI mistreating Yuvi as much they trying to anger him into performing again. For hot-headed guys like Yuvraj, sometimes the biggest motivation is an insult. I think picking Raina ahead of him for the Lanka tests was right, picking Pujara for the Aussie tests was right. But, dropping him to grade B was a bad move.

well dropping him from tests cuz he got injured was a bad move...I may not disagree that raina and pujara might be better test bats..its early days but the way he was shunned was not right. bcci babus just proving they dont think straight. so why was yuvi the chosen test batsman then raina replace him when he was injured...and all of a sudden he is nowhere ot be found in the tests. and dropping him to grade b just proved bcci babus dont have brains.

I meant - given a choice to rest Dhoni in one of the formats - I reckon that would have to be Tests. I based my suggestion on - part of his overall impact in tests as a keeper-batsman. In ODI's he does have lot of impact as a package - captain-keeper-batsman. But in tests - he looks very replaceable in terms of those two skills. As for captaincy - I feel this tactician thing might a bit overrated - in tests. Since, with senior players around most of the tactics/strategies and stuff is a result of collective thinking / brain storming. Usually team takes the field with certain plan(s)/tactics. Perhaps he has a bit of edge over any other, as a captain. But in tests that may not be deciding factor. Besides this thinking-on-the-feet skill has better use/impact in ODIs/T20s. Don't you think playing ( that too as a captain) in all formats is a bit too much of a task? My proposal gives him chance to focus entirely on ODIs / T20s.
