ZodiaC Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 I bet Swann's gonna get a 5wkt haul here on this dust bowl tomorrow and see people go gaga about how great he is.
putrevus Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Ponting again showed how weak he is against spin, he edged straight one into slips.
ZodiaC Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Ponting again showed how weak he is against spin' date=' he edged straight one into slips.[/quote'] Well, he couldn't handle bhajji on flat tracks, this pitch is turning square (digging their own grave etc.)
putrevus Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Well' date=' he couldn't handle bhajji on flat tracks, this pitch is turning square (digging their own grave etc.)[/quote'] last time Indians played there it was like road with no spin at all, why so much change now even though they don't have any spinner.Aussies are digging their own grave by making these kind of tracks.
dhillon28 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 difference is Bhajji whines about these tracks everytime he cant take wickets n match is drawn wheras Swann has taken in his stride difference is, being a spinner in an english team on mainly english tracks, youre not expected to take tons of wickets unlike being an indian spinner on indian tracks. also swann has played on more turners recently and bhaji has played on more flat wickets- so flat that even he scored two centuries in a row.

Swann's gonna run through them like a hot knife through butter tomorrow.

f.b.m Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 The thing about his bowling is that its not exactly 'classical' like Bhajji at his best. Although he bowls in the low 80's sometimes, his stock and most threatening delivery is in the high 80's and he never really beats people in dip/flight. How anyone turns the ball like that at such pace is impossible for me to really understand. Also, he usually bowls with a slightly scrambled seam. He isnt supposed to get as much drift and turn with a seam position like that, although it explains why some turn sharply and some go straight on. Incredible bowler.
Sachin=GOD Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 to all those people who said that Swann was not a quality bowler :finger:

A guy with 50 average in FC speaks volume about him being a spinner :giggle: KP was getting sharp turn and bounce when he landed it on the rough and got clarke - their best player of spin.
Serani Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Bowlers footmarks turning on a 5th day wicket, well I never.
Pak_Forever Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Currently the best Test bowler and got all ingredients to remain so for a foreseeable future. It's really refreshing to see an awesome spinner out of many average/useless spinners in Test cricket today.
Robelinda Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 All credit to him. I recall watching bat with Hayden in 1998 in county cricket, his bowling was trash, his batting was top 6 quality. Never did i think he would one day become a world beater in all conditions. Thumbs up dude.
ZodiaC Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Bowlers footmarks turning on a 5th day wicket' date=' well I never.[/quote'] Not sure about the rough part, but the point is there was massive turn and bounce. Heck even colly's offie darts were turning enough.
Serani Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Yeh there was assistance no doubt but Swann's bowling made it look worse than it was. Also his performance in the first innings was excellent on a really flat deck, probably the best he has bowled.
achilles Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 All thanks to Mushi Bhai :--D And his beard, sponsored by Adidas :two_thumbs_up:
