fineleg Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Its IPL afterall :giggle: While they are at it to get older players, Can we get Kapil Dev and King Viv? :haha:
maniac Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 WTF, it seems you only see Green, don't you. You are new here and abuse veterans.... I don't know what part of my message was abusive.I hear quotes of IPL being failure from Pakistanis all the time,I am not sure of your nationality but it definetely was perceived that way.As a veteran poster you should have backed up your statement when you said IPL4 will not happen. It wasn't a personal attack,so don't take it that way but no matter how the IPL is perceived or the quality of it's cricket-it still is one of the if not best organised sports tournament in India and yes as Indias we should be proud of what it has accomplished regardless of all off-field drama that happens.
maniac Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 It is quite obvious that it is your opinion that Lara the cricketer will attaract massive droves of people just by his name even now. I don’t agree with it, but I there’s no point in me argue over opinions. We can only debate facts and realities, not perceptions and opinions. I agree with you.It is merely my opinion as to how the corporates might think.Even if the corporates think the way I perceive they will use Lara,it would only be a short-term thing for them to generate some revenue but they can always use his services more as an ambassador than a player.
kabira Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 what proof you need. Court Case is going on. Royals can take part in auction now...BCCI moved to High Court, then it will be supreme court. You clearly dont know how it can get delayed or cancelled. Remember if Auctions are delayed, they have to delay IPL, we India's schedule pretty tight, there is no chance it can be played in 2011. Just keep watching this circus. BCCI made a huge mistake, they could have proposed an amicable settlement instead of just removing a team. I am proud of IPL, don't get it wrong, I just gave you a fact.
Mamu Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 I will not miss anything if the IPL does not take place next year. Give it a rest --- it has gathered quite a bit of steam.
IKnowU Posted December 3, 2010 Posted December 3, 2010 Modi would be :giggle: all the way to the bank if the IPL doesnt happen next year. BCCI would be the biggest laughing stock.
maniac Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 IPL may have lost some of it's shine but beleive me it will still get TV Ratings and sell out crowds. Most of us pure cricket fans may not rate the quality of cricket in the IPL but cannot ignore the revenue it generates. On a side note even though it has thrown a lot posers like Yusuf Pathan, Jaddu, Dinda,Tiwary etc,it also rejuvenated the careers of Shane Watson the best allrounder in the world right now and to some extent Raina who has cemented his place permenantly and Ashwin.
maniac Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Modi would be all the way to the bank if the IPL doesnt happen next year. BCCI would be the biggest laughing stock. Credit where due he was one of the best administrators we had since Dalmiya.
lonestarranger Posted December 4, 2010 Posted December 4, 2010 Former West India captain? Lara is much more than a "former west Indian captain". In fact' date=' his captaincy is not one the main reasons why he is famous.[/quote'] Don't get pissed off. It's a tactic that the press always uses. Whenever they reference 'Apple', they say - 'The Cupertino based company'. Whenever they reference 'Microsoft', they say - 'The Redmond based company'. Learn to live with it! :--D
