In ODIs we have had Dada open with Gambhir as recently as 2007 in the WI tour just before the 2007 WC. Dada- Parthiv opened a few times in Australia in the VB series in 2004. Dada opened with Dinesh Mongia in a few matches and in fact IIRC opened with Yuvraj Singh in early 2001!! Then For a few matches Amay Khurasia and Yuvraj had opened as well (just 1 or 2). In tests, Irfan Pathan had opened with Gambhir vs SL ina test match in 2005 and scored 93.

Hmmm...why? The list is sorted by the number of left handed batsmen who opened for India in any form of the game. The first 20 or so instances on the list are when both openers were left handed ie. when the first column = 2.
