As many as 29 times we have scored 400+ runs in last 4 years. Of those, 15 times we crossed 500+ score in an innings. Obviously, Pak is out of discussion. Even though england managed 12 500+ scores, 8 of those were scored against WI and Bang. While India's 500+ scores have come against Eng, SA, Aus, SL, Pak, NZ and Bang. 7 of those 15 were scored outside of india. Pretty remarkable. Isn't it? When Eng can manage that they will definitely be #1. Lets see.

But one thing going for them is Andy Flower this guy is very tough and very grounded unlike Duncan Fletcher who got so much publicity but was never a good coach , he just happened to be in right time right place like John Buchanan. Nobody has anything against white people or any other people. Its just that England have won 1 Single Test match against Aus (and that also after 7 years) and thats against an Aussie team that is not exactly the best team in the world - after such a win you obviously expect the fans to go over the top and make such claims but when a former international player comes out and makes such claims on the basis of 1 victory then he deserves to be ridiculed.

List of w/L of all the teams in last 2 years. We only lost 2 tests in last 2 years. Aus lost 9, Eng 5, SA 5. England's 9 of 13 wins are coming against #6, 7, 8 and 9 teams like Pak, WI, NZ & Bang. You have lost games against Pak, WI in last 2 years. That takes you down in the ranking. Indians have a stunning 5.5 win/loss ratio. Other teams do not have even half of that in the last 2 years. The next best is Eng with 2.6.

The average per innings when were bowled out is 402 England was bowled out 24 times in last two years, your lowest totals are 51, 102, 169, 180. The average per innings in 24 is 310. So whether you have 10 good bowlers or 15, if your batsmen are not good enough, you aint winning matches.
