Zap_Brannigan Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Why doesnt ICF have ads? It doesnt have to be intrusive. You can have one at the top and one at the bottom or at the side, all safely away from the forum. A site this big could net something like a few 100$ per month. Rajiv or Ravi could use that money for servers and donate the rest if they wish to. Or does it already have ads and i am just blocking them?
panesarv Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 it does have an ad after the 1st post already

Zap_Brannigan Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 Yes it does. I had to open IE and look at the thread. I should have just done that before opening this thread. Disregard thread!
Sachinism Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 Zap I guess that means time for you to support ICF by putting it on the whitelist on adblock
Zap_Brannigan Posted December 21, 2010 Author Posted December 21, 2010 Zap I guess that means time for you to support ICF by putting it on the whitelist on adblock My adblock is not enabled. I use mozilla at work and chrome at home and i swear i dont remember seeing a single ad in ICF for a long time.Hence the thread. I actually would like to support ICF. Just tell me how to get the ads. Edit: Found it. I have a Filter subscription easylist on.
Sachinism Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 :D Anyways don't know how much revenue the ads generate. If its anything substantial, I wouldn't mind clicking them a few times either

If its anything substantial, I wouldn't mind clicking them a few times either I just read somewhere a site with around 200,000 unique hits a day makes around 10,000$. This site should get a couple of hundred dollars every month acc. to my shady math. That should atleast cover the site expenses, although i have no idea how much that costs.
DomainK Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 :D Anyways don't know how much revenue the ads generate. If its anything substantial, I wouldn't mind clicking them a few times either They can generate good revenue. But clicking on them over and over may not be productive. Google has a very efficient click fraud team that keep an eye on clicks from the same IP address. They will actually sue you in a court of law.
Rajiv Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 ...i used to have adsense lon time back, we had them too on ICF..its not the same anymore and u hardly get paid on it

Texy Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 i'm sure lot of regular members wouldn't mind chipping in for maintenance costs if needed.
