Tendulkar_Bhai Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 He always talks about coming in and consolidating but you cant put it off till the last 5 overs especially when you are 5/6 wickets down! Plus lets not forget Sehwag threw his wicket away again! Blame has to lie with the batsmen and Vinay Kumar.
Needforspeed Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 This thread is a joke. Dhoni is the only one who played today. Its not his fault our so called specialist batsmen fecked up big time.
Sid Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Dhoni needs to play at no.3 if he wants to do what he does in T2O ,any number lower than 3he is useless. As Pagalpanti said ,his modus operandi is masterful and pefrfect for ODIs but not for T20's. So, if he doesnt want to bat at no.3 then he should retire from this format.
NeutralCat Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Dhoni should captain the ODI and T20 team, but he needs to walk away from the test match side. Great at the short format but **** house where it matters the most the GOLD standard which is Test cricket.
VRV Singh Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 T20 is not important in the grand scheme of things. However the way it is approached by India is indicative of complacency in all forms. Churning out the same team for ODIs and hoping for the best. Dhoni is probably not the main target here, but we are talking likes of Sehwag, Vinay as well. There is no concept of what it might take to win. Top order wicketkeeping cowlasher is important for T20. IPL has failed us here. Anyway as I said in the other thread, I would like a far more progressive unit for Friday's game showing at least people have been thinking. Send Rohit to open, kick out Sehwag, bring in Pathan and Tiwary, send Dhoni at 4 and have Raina finishing.
Karan114 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Dhoni should captain the ODI and T20 team, but he needs to walk away from the test match side. Great at the short format but **** house where it matters the most the GOLD standard which is Test cricket. Not great at T20I cricket at all. In ODIs is he is magnificent, one of the greatest cricketers ever in fact, but in T20Is he is poor.
Number Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Fact is if he would have started taking risks right away . we would have lost by 60-70 runs. We were 4 down so he had to take his time . 115 runs were way too far for him.
NeutralCat Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Maybe Dhoni should bat at 3 in the T20's it's obvious he likes to settle down which I like, but he needs to bat up the order in the T20's.
Pak_Fan_4_Eva Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Dhoni needs to come up the order. Beats me why he waits for the top order to get out. He's easily the best limited overs batsman for India. Should come upfront.
Viki_J Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 pissed off and made this up :hysterical::hysterical: true story my friend...!!
VRV Singh Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Rohit Gambhir Kohli Dhoni Tiwary Raina Pathan Jadeja Ashwin PK Rahul Sharma
J P K Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 knew this thread would be on top dhoni is not good in t20 at intl level i hope he retires from t20 first then test cricket
J P K Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Where were you when he won T20 for India? :) that was 4 years back he did not win it was us whole team contributed check his performance in the last 2 -3 years and post a inning were dhoni has us a t20 match single handedly
mysterio86 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Where were you when he won T20 for India? :) I dont remember him winning us any T20. if your talking about T20 World Cup, then that was Yuvi & Gambhir, Sehwag & Uthappa. And to some extent most of our bowlers including Jogi ! :nice:
Needforspeed Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 If Dhoni hadnt played today, India would have been all out for 85
Shunya Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 Dhoni bashing has become a norm here it seems...from Test matches to T20 now...he is playing good ... he is perfect wicketkeeper batsman we can get...who can play at any order and score runs...what moreu expect him to do...ridiculous criticising going on here...
Pagalpanti Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 ^^All out for 85 or 140/6... result is still = lost. Though Dhoni is not entirely to blame for the loss but 7 of 18 balls is ridiculous for anyone coming in at no.6
mysterio86 Posted February 1, 2012 Posted February 1, 2012 If Dhoni hadnt played today' date=' India would have been all out for 85[/quote'] Am I suppose to give a fu(k about that ? If he had chosen to bat first we may have won ? Maybe Dinesh Kartik would have scored a century ? Maybe we would have been all out for 65 instead of 85 ? The point is you play to win not reduce the margin of defeat.
