Bradman99 Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Just interested in getting your folks opinion on him? I think he is overrated, at least in the 20/20 format. He does the same thing each innings and slows the score down.. We go from looking like posting 180+ to getting 150 with him at the crease. He might be useful on the test arena, but in limited overs I don't like him.
Serani Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Dont think I have ever seen him play a good international innings tbh.
Sid Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Just like fellow Victorian Brad Hodge,A Domestic Bully thats it
SachDan Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 Dont think I have ever seen him play a good international innings tbh. http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/350475.html That was one brutal innings!
ZodiaC Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 He's decent in t20s, blame the selectors for selecting him when he's terribly out of form.
Dravid Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 dave hussey test player? sure, would be great for the opp :--D
daryl1985 Posted January 14, 2011 Posted January 14, 2011 HIs bowling is ok for a part timer but i don't think he scores enough runs nor does he score at a good enough strike rate. Better suited to ODI's. I think he needs time to build an innings.
The Outsider Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Personally feel his best format would have been test cricket. He might not have averaged 50, but would have been a more than a handy batsman at test level. He is still good for ODIs, but is vastly overrated in T20s, not that I consider the format much of cricket, but that's besides the point. He can still be useful in T20s if he comes at 1 down where he can build his innings - to the extent anyone can in T20, but at number 4 or lower he just does not have the game.
Bradman99 Posted January 15, 2011 Author Posted January 15, 2011 is a powerful hitter! Also a ball waster.
King Tendulkar Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Looked good the other day in match winning knock:--D
Bradman99 Posted January 28, 2011 Author Posted January 28, 2011 Looked good the other day in match winning knock:--D Doesn't do it enough though and can only really produce match winning knocks when there isn't pressure on him to score quickly.
Desi Cartman Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 IMO the t20 player tag hasn't helped him. He did well in domestic t20 and was expected to play as well or even better in the Limited overs intl games. The other player who suffered from something like this is Cameron white. Both these players have under-performed due to high expectations.

I feel that White has proven himself on international stage whereas Hussey certainly hasn't.
pakeeza1990 Posted January 28, 2011 Posted January 28, 2011 he is only for the T20 T20 format not for the one days
