They have got elected only from their family seats, have yet to demonstrate any remarkable vision or achievement on the ground, and just because they can speak good English, look good in designer clothing, and appear to be intelligent does not necessarily make them intellectuals or able leaders or for that matter, able administrators. Every time during cabinet reshuffle , English media goes mad about so called three young guns , as if we don't have anyone else to represent youth who has not come from Dynasty politics.[/quote'] A very large majority of the young Congress MPs come from political backgrounds - Sachin Pilot, Jyotiraditya Scindia, Jitin Prasad, RPN Singh, Rahul Gandhi, Priya Dutt, Manish Tewari, Milind Deora etc. Only a few like Jayanti Natrajan, Ashok Tanwar, Jitendra Singh etc have come from non political backgrounds but even these leaders have come up in the party organization so quickly because they are close to Rahul Gandhi thats why they have become Ministers or have got good posts in the organization. If you see the entire 200+ Cong MPs in the Lok Sabha, you won't find more than 3-4 young MPs who have come from non political background so its no wonder that the media goes gaga over the likes of Pilot, Scindia. Another reason is that these people are close to Rahul Gandhi so every time there's a reshuffle, there's talk of Rahul Gandhi's imprint and inevitably their names come up. Also, there's the connection that the common people had with their charismatic fathers/mothers like Madhawrao Scindia or Rajesh Pilot or Sunil Dutt etc so the media gives greater coverage to these young politicians to take advantage of their surname.

Sachin=GOD Posted October 31, 2012 Author Posted October 31, 2012 All of Kejriwal's allegations against Khurshid seemed to have backfired - if there was going to be a change in the External Affairs Ministry then Khurshid was definitely one of the contenders but he was not the front runner by any means but it seems Congress wanted to show "thefinger" to Kejriwal so Khurshid got the unexpected promotion.

She really seems to know to push the right buttons with Sonia. Would never win any election, isn't even some scholar like Manmohan Singh but struts around like she is some major karta dharta of the party and country. The way her chaaploosi has made her such a powerful person is amazing. She is the conduit to Sonia Gandhi for all practical purposes for 99% Congress leaders except the very senior ones like Manmohan Singh and Mukherjee.

She has been doing chaaplusi since the days of Rajiv Gandhi so now she's got a lot of clout. But from what I've seen over the last 2-3 years, Rahul Gandhi doesn't count these people much. He's got his own set of young leaders who form his pool of advisers and its only Sonia who keeps going back to people like Soni, Fernandes, Jagdish Tytler, Kamalnath etc.

Most of Congress leaders' careers are built on chaploosi. It is an old strategy of Congress not to encourage any strong middle rung leaders who can mount a challenge to the Gandhis. Anyone who grows too powerful is cut back in size and either leaves the party (Pawar, Mamata) or just fades away. The fact that they lose entire states due to this immaterial to the high command as long as their unchallenged rule continues
