cowboysfan Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 our batting philosophy in the past 2 years has been viru opening and taking advantage of the powerplays and just blitzing the bowlers.viru's style is not suited for the middle order and he should always open for us.
jf1gp_1 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 true, but how do you demote gambhir who scored back to back centuries; had a fairly reasonable test series in SA and someone who has always been an opener with Sehwag coming of a surgury havent played an ODI in sometime now. Ofcourse the bigger risk is sehwag in a middle order which is going through a rough patch is a major gamble.
kabira Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 I think Veeru will enjoy batting in middle overs, with spinners bowling and then there is batting powerplay. so fits in well there. His 30s and 40s will be helpful later in the order...
