Cricketics Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Tendulkar Sehwag Gambhir Kohli Yuvraj Dhoni Pathan Harbhajan Zaheer Munaf Nehra It's a hard decision but it's something which should happen. Raina to be 12th Man.
cowboysfan Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 its really a conundrum for the indian think tank.its about form vs potential.I would like to see our original lineup who were smoking teams before all the injuries and see how they do sachin viru gg yuvi raina dhoni yusuf bhajji zak nehra pk
Sid Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Sach Viru Gauti Kohli Yuvi Dhoni Yusuf Bhajji Ashwin PK Zak Bowl Ashwin in the 1st PP and death overs
zen Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 In the warm ups, I would focus on getting the form back for some of the guys who are struggling, along with focusing on the strategy of the playing 11 The 12 for the warm up would be: - Yuvi - Raina - GG - Dhoni - Kohli - Pathan - Ashwin - Chawla - PK - Munaf - Zak - Nehra If only 11 can play then I would rest GG. Make UV, Raina, Dhoni, Kohli and YP bat most of the overs and the 6 bowlers bowl all the overs. Ten, Viru, GG and Bhajji can rest
Sid Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 IMO we should not rest any player and play a first choice 11,for God's sake play your first 11 atleast once before the WC,I dont even remember when was the last time we had our first choice players on the park playing
Sachin=GOD Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Goddy Sehwag Gambhir Kohli Dhoni Raina Yusuf Bhajji Zak PK Munaf.
Ranjha Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Sachin Sehwag Gambhir Kohli Yuvraj Dhoni Pathan Harbhajan Zaheer Praveen kumar Munaf patel
zen Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Playing SRT and GG (that too when playing in India), who have shown good form, along with Bhajji, who will definitely be in the starting 11 and has been playing so many games makes little sense. On 2nd thoughts, I would rest Zak too. The remaining 11 would play. You don't want to be in a situation where the guys in form play the warm ups, hit 100s with others getting little time to spend in the middle .... Then in the first WC game, we get two good balls from BD and ROs or whatever and are like 40/3 with the struggling middle order having the responsibility to bail us out Get those struggling guys in the right shape in the warm ups! And focus on getting our bowling combination right!!
Sir_Afridi Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 India should play first eleven right from the start. No such thing as warm in a World Cup.
zen Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 India should play first eleven right from the start. No such thing as warm in a World Cup. Do you mean we get points for winning the practice games? :P
Bumblebee Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 goddy viru gambhir kohli yuvi dhoni pathan bhajji pk zak muna
Karan114 Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Tendulkar Sehwag Gambhir Kohli Yuvraj Dhoni Pathan Harbhajan Praveen Zaheer Munaf
Zelig Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Our regular XI hasn't batted together for awhile, so it's only common sense that we field our best XI instead of resting key players. SRT, Viru, GG - you've had enough rest. Bring your ar$es to the field. :orderorder: My Team Viru SRT GG Yuvi Raina MSD YuPa Harby Zak PK Munaf I trust in Raina :isalute:
Zelig Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 All you guys who have named SRT as #1, midget-God seldom faces the first ball :giggle:
Sachin=GOD Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 My Team Viru SRT GG Yuvi Raina MSD YuPa Harby Zak PK Munaf I trust in Raina :isalute: ++ just drop Yuvi and bring in Kohli in this team :two_thumbs_up:
Fontaine Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 This is the first world cup that I can remember where I'm actually pretty confident in our bowling. Bhajji/Zaheer/Munaf are in pretty good form and really know how to bowl in the subcontinent and PK will be his usual best with the new ball. The fifth bowling looks good also with Yusuf/Yuvi.
Andy Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Sach Viru Gauti Kohli Yuvi Dhoni Yusuf Bhajji Ashwin PK Zak Bowl Ashwin in the 1st PP and death overs Good Pick. I would probably field the same. But with PK as the only 2nd Pacer. Death bowling looks a bit weak. May be we should Pick Nehra ahead of PK. About the batting line up, these practise games shuld be the last chance for Yuvi, if he fails there too. We should pick Raina ahead of him IMO.
Watson87 Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Viru Sach Gauti Kohli Yuvi Raina Dhoni Bhajji Z Khan M Patel A Nehra can't drop raina, in sub pitches he can thrash any bowling opposition
gaurav92 Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Seein the stats for the last one year, Bhajji has been crap.I will take the risk of playing an extra batsmen instead of him for sure. Sachin Sehwag Gambhir Yuvraj Kohli Dhoni Raina Yusuf Zaheer Praveen Munaf 3 seamers, 4 options in terms of part time spinners (yuvi, raina, Sehwag, Yusuf) who I think are more than capable of bowling 25 overs in case the seamers are going for runs.
Zelig Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 ^ Sehwag won't be able to bowl, you uncombed dildo :finger:
