I've been researching video players and ipad since then to replace my busted ipod. So far ipad 3g s in the running with Ipod touch 4g, zune hd (if MS is still supporting it). I am sad there are no other options out there. I dont want to buy another apple product with its shoddy service.

Apple uses DRM to control what can run on these devices, which means that Apple’s customers can’t take their “iContent” with them to competing devices, and Apple developers can’t sell on their own terms.
