and 7 in ENG, 4 in NZL bloody ftb
Blame ICC for this hierarchy. Its not Jayawardene fault that he hasnt played much in SA,Aus. If Jayawardene is FTB then what is Sehwag who has also failed in SA,NZ & Eng despite playing more matches than Jayawardene in those countries.

1.5 million IPL contract is better deal than to play for Sri lanka. Isn't this right Mr Jayawardena?? And moreover Sri lanka is going to tour Aus and SA, maybe he doesn't want to spoil his career average.

He has played a total of 116 tests, and out of them: only 4 in OZ and 5 in SA. What the ****.

and whose fault is it that he played so less matches in these countries? He scored runs where he got to play the most :dontknow:

I cant believe there are such short-sighted people around who cant appreciate a good batsman. Seriously, look at his shots yesterday. Look at the ground size and outfield. Then talk. The fact is NO OTHER batsman today, except him and sachin can play such a classy elegant innings, without getting cheap edges for fours and ugly shots. Its a treat watching him.

Jayawardene is a class act. No idea why the hat towards him. He is a quality player and far from a FTB. He averages over 40 in Aus, SA, Eng and NZ. In england its near 50 and in SA near 50 as well. May not be as good away as at home but he hardly crumbles when playing away from home. His recors overseas is actually good.

Goes onto show how little people follow cricket and just go to cricinfo and read stats and start writing about a particular player. Here was example and something has been exposed.

Reminds me of the time some poster was arguing how Ponting is better and more consistent than Tendulkar because he has never averaged less than 50 in any calender year - of course he was reading the strike rates as averages! :icflove:
