desi pride 1234 Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 You are. It is the opposite case most certainly. There are more Indian cricketers from small towns / modest families than earlier. excatly. small town cricketers work hard and reach the top. the bcci has to do more to find the raw talent from small towns. small town boys dont go to cricket acadamies, they dont go to well reputed schools to get selected at junior level. the small town boys in indian team are those who followed their passion with heart. city boys have different options but we never had those options.

But over the years we have seen players come from small towns... Raina - Ghaziabad, U.P. Kaif - U.P. Yuvraj - Chandigarh Sreesanth - Kerala Dhoni - Ranchi RP Singh - Rai Bareilly Pathan brothers - Gujrat Munaf - Gujrat And majority of these players don't come from a rich family. Things are changing and with IPL more kids from small towns will take to cricket, and cricket being run like a business going forward only talent will count and not where you come from.

Ultimate_Game Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 dont u know the bcci has ordered the ipl teams to select the players from only state cricketers? we are not gonna get any raw talent via ipl. forget it. As I said cricket is a business now. If Mallaya, Ambani or any of the franchises see a bright young talent, don't you think they will go for it? Btw IPL will ensure that kids take to cricket and ppl will allow their children to play and pursue cricket as a profession. Eventually the talent will show up at state level and on to IPL
The Outsider Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 dont u know the bcci has ordered the ipl teams to select the players from only state cricketers? we are not gonna get any raw talent via ipl. forget it. That's not true. Kamran Khan played in IPL even before playing any match for UP or even being in any squad. However, those dreaming that IPL franchises are going to spend money unearthing resources need a reality check as well. Their coffers are filled by the top 20-25 Indian players and another 20-25 international stars. They are not going to bother setting up any serious academies or camps to unearth new talent.

Malcolm Merlyn Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 not anymore bro. http://www.bengalkolkataonline.co.cc/2011/01/ipl-4-indian-player-selection-rules.html players can be selected only from domestic teams. stupid decision to stop ipl teams to try those raw talent. I think you misread.I quote from your article As per the BCCI Rule, every IPL-4 Teams should select at least four cricketers / players from their zone / catchment area like Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) zonal region is Bengal, Jharkhand, Assam, and Orissa. Above all, 3-way contract between Domestic Players, IPL-4 Franchise and BCCI; should happen while choosing uncapped Local Indian Players in IPL-4 2011. Who are uncapped Indian Cricket players of 2011 IPL4? Aspiring young Indian Cricketers and those who didn't play in International cricket for more than 10 years will be considered as Indian uncapped players. By this IPL-4 Rule Akash Chopra and Laxmi Ratan Shukla become uncapped players. So any cricketer who hasnt played INT cricket for 10 years or never played international cricket for India can be picked.
Chaos Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 it's BS when they say we dont eat meat (especially beef). Cuz i am pretty big myself and i never eat anything than chicken and turkey. So, stop with this nonsense... lol
nballa Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Did you just make up that number?? http://www.indoorclimbing.com/Protein_Requirement.html Average adult requires only 30-50gms of protein daily. Half a liter of milk alone provides you 15gms of protein. Infact, a High protein diet over a long period is dangerous, it absorbs calcium frm the bones into urine resulting in weak bone density and kidney stones. 30-50 gms is for someone who follows sport from the comfort of his/her couch and not plays any. a high protein diet will only leach calcium if you eat protein only and don't complement it with veggies.

pakexpress Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 start playing more of tape ball cricket and you will start producing fast bowler but your good batting production might go down.. from personal exp, playing with tape ball cricket req a lot of skills...its like a torture to be bowling with a tape ball..every tom, dick and harry can come and smack you for like 25 runs in an over..u just have to come up with plans to minimize that...and bowling fast is one way of doing that.. now the reason why we dont produce good bat is coz of the tap ball... most of us play with tape ball till the age of 14-15 or even longer...by that time it’s too late to learn the proper technique and footwork....tape ball is all about slogging and doesn’t req any footwork etc. By the time we start playing with hard ball and try to learn footwork, its already too late.

No Thanks. Better batting line up is very important these days. Also India's strength has traditionally been spin. When Australia was no.1 for 10 years two guys who made that possible were not express pace bowlers. Now that they have array of pace bowlers who can all clock over 145k regularly yet they struggled big time to take wickets in the Tests. Having an express pace bowler will just give you an edge. That's it. It is not mandatory. But not having proper batsmen will give you endless problems.
pakexpress Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 dude no need to get all excited..i was just answering the questions... wait till you lose tendu, dravid, lax and viru ...talk to me about your batting then..we all know how great the likes of raina, uv, murli, sharma and co are..

DOn't worry Kohli, Gauti, Viru will still be there for a while . We have guys like Rahane, Manish Pandey, Mukund, Manoj Tiwary even if you ignore the guys you said.

vvvslaxman Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Miandad' date='Inzi,Younis,Yousuf all averaged 50+ :winky:[/quote'] Struggled abroad and against top team of their era. I think tape culture was introduced in the late 80s. Not sure.

saneindian Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 The biggest problem is the coaching system for bowlers at the grass roots level. Go to a cricket camp and see how 13-14 year old kids are taught intricate technicalities of bowling, their action fine tuned which IMO restricts their development. Let those kids bowl naturally without focussing too much on getting the technique right or asking them to focus on line and length early in their careers.
achilles Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Coz our coaches have not seen the Docomo ad.
achilles Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 Frankly, we lack the physique and ability to bowl that pace. And our fast bowlers realize this within a year or two of international cricket and become the moped's we have aplenty in our team. We must be the laziest lads in cricket. Despite having the talent to outdo some pretty mediocre players (most notably some Aussie & English players who are genuinely one dimensional), we waste our talent believing we should still be earning the bucks for we used to bowl 140kph 5 years back
