Pak_Fan_4_Eva
Faulty speed guns anyone?:--D jk i won't be surprised if he loses pace by the time he gets drafted into the Indian team (if that happens) Munaf was fast before he entered "that" bowling academy. He came out a medium fast bowler:dance: Link to comment

hari504504
intersting...:hmmm:..if the speed gun is accurate then this guy is deceptively quick... doesn't seem all that tall or physically impressive either.. Link to comment
cowboysfan
how tall is he? .its tough to maintain that kind of pace if you are 5.8 or 5.9. Link to comment

hari504504
^^ plus..all that pace seems to be coming from his shoulders alone..ala Simon Jones, would like to see a more rhythmic run-up... lets just say he is a half-baked brett lee.. Link to comment
Ram
Not bad, definitely a space worth watching. Of course, you can have all the pace in the world and still be utter garbage. Who knows, this guy could be a reasonable prospect. Link to comment

cowboysfan
Tell that to malcolm marshll Marshall was small compared to other west indian fast bowling greats but he was close to 6 feet. Link to comment
Malcolm Merlyn
not concerned about the longevity ??..doesn't seem like he can sustain what he is doing for too long without breaking down.. All fast bowlers are injury prone. But the more natural your ability to bowl fast the lesse ryou will get injured. He doesnt have a long run up like Akhtar who was frequently injured because of that long run up and didnt cut it down. Look at Steyn he has a shorter run up and is express.Varun also has a short run up and it seems bowling fast comes to him naturally. Link to comment
cowboysfan
I dont know whether this kid will ever amount to anything but its time that we identified certain bowlers for limited overs cricket only;not every one is cut out to play tests and varun looks like he could use more focus on the shorter formats. Deleted_User_1
Indians are truly starved for pace. One guy who has not even played that many FC, and we have umpteen posts on him in this forum. LOL! Link to comment
