Mariyam Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 See this run out by Jonty Rhodes against Pakistan in the 1992 WC. Most sane fielders would just throw the ball on the stumps and be happy about it. But not Jonty. He takes the stumps down with his efforts. Definitely a crazy world cup moment mHqviooA38g
Mariyam Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Siddhu's comments on the final boundary that resulted in the Bangladeshi victory: " And once the ball hits the rope, the entire Bangladeshi nation reveled in the fact that hope is a Pope " ??? :D Meaningless Sidhuism. This one doesn't even make sense.

Mariyam Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 Not really funny moments, but this world cup sees players with really funny first and last names. Tatenda Taibu is the only person with an alliterative name to ever captain a world cup side. Funny name World Cup 11 Gambhir, Lamb, Prosper, Ten, How , Nikita, Bravo! , Faf, Rubel, Kayes, Prior 12th man Bell Gambhir - Why so serious? Lamb- About to be slaughtered by the opposing bowlers. Prosper - :D Ten - Named after his batting average? How- How can someone from an English speaking country have such a name??? Nikita- Typical name from the Carribean? Bravo- Well done indeed. Faf- Du Plessis is nothing much to Faf about. Rubel- Is this a typical Bengali name? Or is this a local corruption of the word rubble, which is what he looks like after his bowling spells? Kayes - One look at this guy, and you know that he can't be Kayes. Majnun maybe, but not Kayes. :P Prior - Same comments as How. PS: 1 lakh ICF $$ gift to the first one who makes a meaningful sentence with all names from the list above. Exclude the 12th man.
zaheer Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 Ten - Named after his batting average? He is propably having the highest average in ODIs.
