satyam1729 Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 The only problem with him was that he used to leak runs but he has one of the best Wicket/match ratio. Surely can't be worse than this lot ?
zen Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 We keep going around in circles .... Earlier the general belief was that 2 good over creates enough pressure for a wkt to fall, now we know that 2 good hits could put that pressure back on the bowling side. Which is why any bowler w/ an ability to pick up wkt taking balls is more useful than one who merely looks to bowl dot balls. A team needs both kind of bowlers in its mix, but if there is a choice, a wkt taker would be my preference

Andy Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 This is our problem, why are we going back to Tried and Tested Failures? First it was Irfan Pathan, Then we brought in Nehra, Then Munaf Patel. Though Munaf has been very good in last few Games, doesnt mean others are not Tried and Tested Failures.
aruneshh Posted February 27, 2011 Posted February 27, 2011 I agree with Andy - why bring back the players who are past their prime, instead of trying to bring in younger bowlers? I think this is a problem with the selection committee in general. They always bring back older players every time there is a need for change. There are a few promising pacers playing for J&K. I think after the World Cup is over, we need to look for the 'next Zaheer Khan' as he seems to be the only bowler that seems to cause the opposition problems on a regular basis.

Correct we need to scout well, It cannot be the case that a Country with Billion Population cannot have a International Standard Seamer. BTW Welcome to the Forum.
