Dark Warrior Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 Installed it few hours back. ZOMFG... It's fecking lightening fast. :omg: Is anyone using it? Is there any web browser which is faster than this? Any suggestions? I've chrome, safari installed. Tried opera, flock, netscape, (..... and ie). Had FF 3.6.something installed before this installation. It was slower than chrome. But man, FF 4.0b12 have stunned me atleast for today!! edit: And now it also looks beautiful like chrome. By the way there are some font issues, with this beta version, which can be resolved through "about:config" configuration.
donkey Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 ie9 is much faster try their graphic accelerator tests
ganeshran Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I am on 3.6.14 ATM.. switched to FF4 beta but it switched back to 3.6.13 automatically :WTF: Hope they release the final version soon. Monitor the release at http://canweshipyet.com/
Andy Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 True DW, i am using the Beta version of Mozilla since it was 4.6. Its fantastic and lighetning fast
ganeshran Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Chrome is the best Does Chrome have a Web Developer or Firebug now? Till it does, FF is my primary browser.
ganeshran Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 ie9 is much faster try their graphic accelerator tests Ie9 tests are all bakwaas, They compare their beta products with the production versions for other browsers. Comparing with versions under development, the results are pretty much same with all browsers
donkey Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I have both IE9 and FF4, IE beats FF in pretty much every test, even the ones on mozilla site. IE9 > FF4
Sachin=GOD Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 I installed IE9 and FF4 yesterday and then used both of them for 1 day - and I can say this with absolute certainty that Chrome is miles ahead of both IE9 & FF4.
DomainK Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Downloading right now. I hope it does not hog too much RAM, it it does, I will stay with chrome.
donkey Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Please post results http://demos.hacks.mozilla.org/openweb/HWACCEL/ I get 80 fps
DomainK Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 The beta is actually nice. I am liking it. It's very fast. But chrome remains the best.
Gunner_Mania Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Is it? I installed last night and boy did it suck. back to Chrome..
DomainK Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 What I like: Lotsa browsing space. If you chose to have small icons, this FF beta gives you more browsing space than even chrome. The address bar, the navigation icons, the tabs and the google box have all been stuffed into the space that chrome's title bar occupies and still they have managed to make it look sleek. On my windows 7, a single tab chrome window opened three processes totaling 97500ks. Where as a single tab FF 4.0 beta window opened a single process of less than 62000ks. Though I am sure chrome is handling multiple tabs better. I will post more as I find more.
