In a shock development ahead of Sri Lanka's World Cup clash with Australia, Hair - who first called Muralidaran for throwing in 1995 - said some of world cricket's leading umpires have privately rebuked the spin legend's controversial action. Former ICC panellist Hair also made the claim that Muralidaran continues to chuck and, in his eyes, did so several times in Sri Lanka's 11-run loss to Pakistan last Saturday. Despite being called for throwing by Hair and Ross Emerson, Muralidaran was able to resurrect his career and is embarking on his international swansong at the World Cup after 19 years' service for Sri Lanka. But ahead of Muralidaran's showdown with the Aussies at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Hair says he and Emerson are not the only umpires who believe the Sri Lankan wizard's action is still flawed. "Current umpires have said to me, 'Something is wrong', but they prefer to let it go," said Hair, who quit the ICC's elite panel in 2008. "A few have told me, 'There is definitely something wrong with his action but I'm not going to call him'." Watch Sri Lanka v Australia live on Fox Sports from 7.30pm (EDT) on Saturday. Coverage will commence on Fox Sports News (Ch.513) before switching to Fox Sports 3HD and Fox Sports 3 at the conclusion of the A-League semi-final between Central Coast Mariners and Gold Coast United. vvvslaxman Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 Hair is doing the dirty work for Aussie team?
Zero_Unit Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 after they tested him using softwares and technology he got the green lights. So this kind of BS is to much and unnecessary at the moment.
straight.drive Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 We,at ICF, think that Hair is a foolish Luddite to still consider the "feel" from the naked eye to be the truth.
achilles Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Typical Aussie mind-games. Can they EVER win a game without these mind-games? And if Hair is not playing one, he needs to go fly a kite. No one cares about him or his opinions. Lets remind him that he was banished from cricket and sacked.
vvvslaxman Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 Funny thing is Murali is going to coach Australian spinners :cantstop:
desi pride 1234 Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 We' date='at ICF, think that Hair is a foolish Luddite to still consider the "feel" from the naked eye to be the truth.[/quote'] who is that bald head? have seen him few times in few english news channels
achilles Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Funny thing is Murali is going to coach Australian spinners :cantstop: What will Darrell say about that? How can a chucker coach his team:omg: Oh right, it would be professional decision, I respect CA's approach and all that jazz :hysterical:
vvvslaxman Posted March 5, 2011 Author Posted March 5, 2011 Timing of the interview suggests dirty work.
achilles Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Timing of the interview suggests dirty work. It always is the case when they are playing. Ofcourse, it is "ridiculous" if you point a finger at them.
nballa Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Remake of the famous song in the bollywood movie 'Yaarana' :two_thumbs_up: maybe they cleared him because they didn't want to see that monstrosity without a shirt anymore. did that thought ever cross anyone's mind?
vaibhav_delhi Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Its a farce that this chucker has been allowed to bowl all throughout his career. I dont care what the rule book says. Infact, Murli should be taken as a reference point for chucking and rules for chucking should be devised based on his combined bending angle's of shoulder, elbow, and wrist. If Murli is not a chucker, then no other bowler in the world can be called one. And ofcourse, I have got nothing against him.

King Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Hair's trying to cash in some attention. He's always been like this, likes the attention. Who cares what he thinks really? An X-International umpire that was booted out?
Zero_Unit Posted March 5, 2011 Posted March 5, 2011 Funny thing is Murali is going to coach Australian spinners :cantstop: AHAHHAH :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Take this Mr " I KNOW IT ALL" umpire :finger:
