To you perhaps' date=' but not to us. Just because those phrases are offensive to Pakistanis here doesn't make them universally offensive. The same terms have been used even for our Indian team, so what's the hullabaloo about? People seriously need to stop getting hyper at the drop of a hat. [/quote'] Well, yes here they are used only in insulting manner but right If really those are used in your region in good manners, also you used them without any intention to offend anyone, its olright :)

Well this is ICF, so I don't think we should worry about dissecting common Hindi phrases according to regional sensibilities.

Alright mate' date=' carry on spreading your hatred[/quote'] What hatred are you talking about? If quoting Indian proverbs offend you I can't help it.
Com'on bro! you cant defend everything now... No doubt those are proverbs and very widely used but yes those are 100% offensive and used ONLY in insulting manner...
Again, I don't really need to defend anything as there was nothing racist or offensive in my post. Everything was fact and if you find truth so bitter and unpalatable I can't help it. In India these proverbs are commonly used and don't have any offensive connotations you allude to.

Oh well well... now it depends on personal approach, it will vary from person to person... Suppose same phrase is used by 2 different person on 2 different times, both got same reaction like: hey bro plz that’s I didn’t like, its quite offensive for me as we dont use it here tat like that, so please... one replied: it’s my territory, who you are, its ICF... where u from, am using it... I will use it... because we use it commonly here; I damn care how you feel... 2nd might reply: Ops, its just that we use it commonly here so I used it, sorry if I hurt your feelings but I didnt mean that... So personality is yours, choice is yours... I dont mind whichever way you go, cz ultimately its representing your personality and nothing to do with us here... :)

Bud, if that post hurt you, you are waaaaaayyyyy too sensitive. Don't really know how you go about doing whatever you do on a daily basis without getting offended every now and then. It's good that you are not in India (northern part - Punjab, Haryana, Delhi belt) as this was how generally my dialogues went with my buddies... [Edited] I hope the post passes moderation as this example will give you how things go for the most part.

So what now, we're supposed to pander to your fancies just because a very commonly used phrase here is offensive to YOU? It was never meant to offend anyone in the first place, that is how many Indians speak, so why the noise now? You not using that phrase is in no way some kind of open window for us to compromise on very common Hindi terms. Jeez, what next- try to duck tape an English idiom too?

How old are you? 5? We're not here to babysit folks and chip in for Mother Teresa by taking into account what each person feels. Had another seriously offensive term being used, it would've been a whole different ball game. Since this is a forum with a huge number of Indian members, you have to take into account that HINDI phrases, words, and terms WILL be used. It's just common sense, not about pi** marking your territory! How outrageous can people get? Get off your high horse and stop viewing everyone through the same lens.

Bro! its nothing about whether or not anyone sensitive... By the way I am never ashamed of appologizing anyone WHETHER OR NOT I am on wrong side as for as it is not effecting any of my belief system or religious matter or anything of that serious nature, so may be it was nothing more than a little expectation but well, you are right... and I guess it all went little too far...its not a matter of that worth to discuss it anymore, also we are very much :offtopic: so lets stop it... You may continue the way you want :)

Guys cool down here please. I dont know the intention behind using the proverb, whether it was to offend, but these proverbs are extremely commonly used in India and like many proverbs, contain a tinge of humour and sarcasm involved.
