vpg0002
Windies have done well so far and play 2 good teams in the group and should qualify. India has to play better percentage cricket (which they are very capable of but not playing to the potential) in order to win against WI and also secure a spot in QF. If Windies win against England and bangladesh having already played RSA by then, the result of INdia vs WI will have less bearing (may probably decide #2 or #3 ranking in Group B). Hope to see a good game of cricket before the knock out stages of the tournament. Link to comment

fineleg
Shiv might be dropeed for the return of Chris Gayle. :WTF: Though I'll be happy if Chanders is dropped B-> Shiv and Ramnaresh are a pain for India Link to comment
fineleg
It will be a major brainfart by WI if they omit Shiv. IMO, he'll play and taunt us! Link to comment
Serani
Yeh word on the road is that Shiv will make way. Not really sure why I spelt dropped like that but I was in a hurry. It will become apparent for the England game I guess. Link to comment

saneindian
Talking of hypothetical scenarios, If WI lose both their matches vs Eng and India, and if BD beat SA, WI will be out of the tournament :--D Link to comment
Ashraful_Rox
India world best team they will win Link to comment
Ultimate_Game
There was 8 day break between the games. Surely you don't expect the team to practice all the days! I say let them have a day or two off, recharge their batteries, rest whatever niggles they have and come refreshed for the business end of the tourney. You guys gotta remember this is the last significant break the team will get till the end of tourney and let them take it easy before playing the tough games. Link to comment
anbuchelvan
West Indies will win..Because Mr.Doomed knows how to lose matches from winning position. Link to comment
Ultimate_Game
It certainly could.... so what if they've played 5 games ; I don't see any lessons being learnt. They could :- 1. Practice bowling yorkers 2. Practice tackling yorkers 3. Practice working the ball to take singles instead of trying to smash sixes off every ball 4. Visit the gym or play soccer to bulid-up their stamina, especially skinny Nehra; even the batsmen.... one commentator correctly pointed out that guys like Sehwag and Tendulkar get out later in their innings due to tired shoulders rather than anything else 5. Practice fielding.... especially catching and throwing at the stumps. Anything else you can think of..... Other than 2 and 3 the time is gone. You don't build up stamina or learn new skills in a couple of days. It takes hours of effort and practice every day for months on end to get these things right. It's not like someone shows up at the net, bowls a few yorkers in the nets and is all set to bowl yorkers in the game. Ditto for fielding. The best we can hope for is that they at least use the skills they already possess, i.e. coming up with a plan and tacking batting power-play or batting at the death. Link to comment
vvvslaxman
Its okay man. Nothing wrong in keeping your mind free. As long as they are "switched on" on the ground i am fine. But some dudes are permanently switched off. Link to comment

But some dudes are permanently switched off. Can't do much about those guys, can you? It was up to selectors and team management to ensure such players don't get into the squad, and even if they show up for practice all the 8 days, it wouldn't make much difference to them. King
Majority of the players have their own practice sessions and will have consulted their personal coaches already. The team training is something that is done to work out a some plans together. The bowling/batting is very personal to most and you usually get very little out of the training sessions when not training solo. Fielding is something that the team needs to do together but rest assured majority of these players will have had nets on their own barring one or two. Link to comment
b555
Are India more or less through to QF. Can they be eliminated still ? jjust 1 case speaking practically , i.e bangladesh defeating proteas and we losing to windies Link to comment
