"Respect" I think is too big a word for PM. More like pity. You can only feel sorry for him and for us .
Have to disagree here. I also used to "pity" Manmohan Singh till a few years ago but some recent developments have shown that while he himself may not have indulged in corruption, he blindly supported others like CVC Thomas (despite the reservations on that issue by the leader of the opposition), supported A Raja till very, very late in the Spectrum scam, and in the CWG mess, the less said about it the better. You cannot simply exclude the PM from all these controversies by saying that he does'nt have any real powers so he's helpless or that he's constrained by coalition "Dharma".

No I agree with you. Personally, I think this person has a conscience and he wants to do the right thing. But in a psychophant party where opinions begin and at what Gandhis have to offer, he is being used as a front when really it is someone else calling the shots. I agree that it doesn't take away the blame that he rightly should take.

Manmohan Singh was never a person who was supposed to become the PM, but seems like fate had other plans - he became the Prime Minister and has been so for the last 7 years and I must say that for a man of almost no political background/experience or tactical acumen, he had done admirably well till maybe a few months ago. But now it seems like the lack of political experience or lack of public base is showing and I think its about time he steps down.
