These are the reasons why there's more crowd to watch this game.... 1. This is one of the very few games played between two decent sides. I would love to watch SL-NZ as compared to say Aus_Zim 2. India most probably will play one of these two sides in quarters so ppl would be keen to wtach India's next opponents, and I suspect they would cheer SL as if SL beats NZ, AUS beats Pak and Ind beats WI, it will be Ind Vs NZ in the quarters  3. This is the venue for the world cup final and ppl would want to see how the pitch behaves and what it's like, especially since the pitch was relaid recently.
don't count on it yet :winky:

I was just going by the betting odds and form book  Anything can happen on the field and that's why you play the game but at this point these are the most probable outcomes.

A light tower fails at Wankhede. What a shame for the stadium which will host the final of the WC. A bunch of inefficient goons in the name of administrators, shame on BCCI.
:hysterical: Well better here than in the finals I suppose

Good to see that sort of crowd for a Non-Indian game :two_thumbs_up: I hope Mumbai fans behave well should India play the final

I do not think so, the fact is firstly tickets very much and people there have not much to do. So they just come to watch, (like college students)

Mumbai Indians came to cheer their 'Slinga Malinga' 2011-03-18 18:20:00 Mumbai , March 18 (IANS) Many young fans who turned up at the Wankhede Stadium here Friday said they came to see their Indian Premier League (IPL) team Mumbai Indians pacer Lasith Malinga rather than his Sri Lanka team playing New Zealand in the World Cup. Both New Zealand and Sri Lanka are through to the quarterfinals and their last Group B game will only determine where they finish in the points table. Surprisingly, the crowds were milling outside the stadium a couple of hours before the start of play. Some of them said they came to cheer their Mumbai Indians fast bowler Malinga. The 27-year old Sri Lankan has been nicknamed 'Slinga Malinga' for his slinging bowling action and is quite popular among the youngsters with his curly blonde hair. 'We have come to see Malinga. He is very exciting to watch and one of our favourite Mumbai Indians players,' said Karan Dixit, a budding cricketer who trains at the Vengsarkar Cricket Academy and came with a group of 10 friends to cheer the Sri Lankan.
