Would Zaheer start sledging Ponting again like he did the last time.?. we better be like the aussies if we want to beat em..not the choir boys Dhoni wants..
Zak and Bhaj are the ones who raise their game against aussies you might be right Zak may try to get under the skin of Ricky

I think Times Now is playing a lot of mind games with the Aussies. First, "Ponting getting dumped", something he had to come out and deny. Now this. The fact that they are reacting to our media shows TNN is making an impact on their minds. Will be a major KLPD if we lose tomorrow, but this is funnzz and stuffz :D

I'm talking of WCs.unnecessary sledging would show they are nervous, just like they were in 2003

Are you sure about Zak? I still remember World cup 2003 final's opening over by Zaheer. He tried to rile up Hayden and Gilchrist and he was hit for 15 runs and that was it for India in the game :((

Ponting talking about Zak..

Against the West Indies, MS Dhoni employed only one pace bowler in the first 24 overs. The Australians know what to expect as Ponting outlined how India have been using their best seam bowler, Zaheer Khan, in this World Cup. "They bowl him for three or four overs at the start; then again around the 26th over to see if there is some reverse swing. Then they save him for the powerplay. He has taken the majority of his wickets when batsmen have been attacking him. We can either try to take him out of the game early on or be more cautious against him and get to the other guys." Such candour is rare before a major match, though Ponting declined to name his side.

On a good batting track always bat first and try to bat the opponent out of the game. Scoreboard pressure is a huge factor in a knockout game and acts as an extra bowler. Never look a gift horse in the mouth and bat on a pitch where runs are to be had.

Some of you may not agree but there is the logic behind it.Our batting in probably the strongest of all the teams playing.I mean No other team can even touch our batting capabilities. Its our bowling thats a concern. When we bat first no matter how many runs we score we never know if they will be enough against teams like AUS .I say bowl first get a target.Once our Batsmen have a target in mind they can pace their innings accordingly. And thats how you win against the Aussies.

Australia are just not in the same class as India.
if these were tests in india, i would agee with much of what you said. but in one dayers, they bowl and field very well whereas its our weaksness. many of our players have poor records against them. and do not forgeth some key australian players have been plagued by poor form in the season. we are theoretically capable of turningback the tide in one dayers. but they missed a golden chance in the 2009 series.so its still only on paper. has to be done on the field.

it DOES not matter. the great windies lineup could not score 183 against a second rate indian attack in 1983. more severe pressure is easy to exert on the side batting second. its a different ball game. atleast our opponents can take advantage of nehra and munaf and even they needed the last over!
