Pathan for Kohli..
Good call. This is what I call horses for courses approach. Not that Kohli has done much wrong overall but given the number of spin options Pak. has and not having express pace in comparison with the Aussie team makes it a tempting proposition. I would seriously consider it and perhaps go with VS, SRT, GG, YS, SR, MSD, YP batting line up.

- Sir Viv Richards (Sehwag) - Sir Sachin Tendulkar - Justin Langer (Gambhir) - Greg Chappell (Kohli) - Sir Garfield Sobers (Yuvi) - Adam Gilchrist, the big match player (Dhoni) - Jonty Rhodes (Raina) or Yusuf, the destroyer - Sir Richard Hadlee (Zak) and the bowlers :isalute:

1) Sachin 2) Sehwag 3) Gambhir 4) Kohli 5) Yuvraj 6) Dhoni 7) Raina 8) Ashwin 9) Bhajji 10) Zaheer 11) Sreesanth Kohli is better option, because i don't trust pathan's batting against better spinners. He did take out botha for cleaners, but don't think he has class to take out Ajmal for cleaners. Kohli is better fielder as well. Sreesanth should come instead of Munaf, Munaf is bowling like an allrounder. Never looks like taking a damn wicket.

Folks, initially I wanted to stick with the team that beat Aussies barring one change - Sreesanth/Nehra in place of Nehra but am leaning towards getting Pathan in place of Raina as well. Granted Raina did a great job but I was leaning towards "horses for courses" policy in this case... Raina against Aussies made sense as Aussie attack was based on pacers and Pathan is more at home taking on spinners or trundlers rather than genuinely quick bowlers such as Lee, Tait or Johnson. Yes, Pathan was successful against SA in SA but you will see that his 2 successful innings were played when he started against spinners (Botha & Duminy) and once he had scored runs against spinners & well set he was able to take on SA pacers. Even against Ireland where Pathan scored his highest score in the tourney (30*) he came in against spin and promptly hammered the spinners around. Pak attack is based on spin as other than Gul and one of Riaz/Akhtar the rest of the attack consists of spinners/medium pacers in Afridi, Hafeez, Rahman, Ajmal, Razzaq. Pathan would feel comfortable from ball one against these bowlers and on a good batting track in Mohali would pose a great challenge for the Pak bowling attack. Plus Pathan is a better bowler than Raina and can get a few overs in. Based on these factors I would go for Pathan against Pak and if we make it to the final go with Pathan against SL or SA, and in case of Eng or NZ go with Raina. What do you guys think?

It would be wise to decide the 11 after checking the track. If it is a turning pitch like today where we can attack with spin at the start then I would go with 8 batsmen including both Raina and YP .. if the pitch is flat and we need to open with seamers then I would go with the same team as today

I think we should either retain the same side or make on change - Munaf to go and either Nehra or Sree to come in. I like Pathan but I can't see us dropping either Kohli or Raina. They're better batsmen than Pathan and if need be, can also up the rate if required. They're not slow by any means. They're also good runners between wickets, sharp in the field.

Havent you seen him handling Murli and Mendis?... Of course, Ajmal is as good as Botha only..
