panesarv Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Every match is a different game. It's not like a coin toss. Whoever is the better team will win!
Raghav_12 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Yes, I believe in law of averages. And for the same reason a team ranked number 6-7 should not beat team ranked 1 and 2 in consecutive matches. Also for the same reason a cricket team playing with a goalkeeper should not win many matches against top teams. Pakistan has already overachieved in this worldcup so it's they who should be worried about law of averages.
satishg Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 current form counts..if a team is in hot form then they will continue to win and law of averages will not come into the picture..anyway i think both teams are in good form but India is coming from a big game victory against a high quality opponent and they would be mentally more strong than Pak..so advantage India!
veer Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 At the end of the day we are stil a superior team compare to padosis.. their batting has not posted one challenging score.. their bowling is good but besides gul and afridi, i dont see anyone threatening .. But we have done some really stupid stuff in this series.. all the collapses, and run outs.. throwing away wickets n all.. but I still dont see them beating us..
punjabi_khota Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Man to man and class wise, we are a superior team. But it is one those facts of life we have to face: Pakis play out of their skins against us, and are in some sort of form right now. We will win, but it won't be easy and certainly won't be pretty. Unless of course, either God or UV play one of those defining innings. They are only two batsmen who look fluent enough to play such a knock.

Zaheer comes closest but Gul gets the edge. though both are very good bowlers. Bhajji is in terrible form and he might come back to form next match but still on current form Ajmal and even Hafeez are better

Bhajji is in terrible form and he might come back to form next match but still on current form Ajmal and even Hafeez are better If you are going to mention current form of Hafeez, have you seen how Yuvraj has been bowling in this tournament? And Afridi has a woeful record against us. Average of 55 would embarrass a part time bowler. He may do well against other teams but India handle him easily. Nor does "Gul get the edge" - Zak has been bowling on flat Indian pitches, far more impressive than doing it on the lower scoring tracks in Bangla/Lanka.

Bhajji is in terrible form and he might come back to form next match but still on current form Ajmal and even Hafeez are better Zaheer is the highest wicket-taker in fast bowling in this WC . And have you bothered to check the average of Afridi and Gul against India ? And in current form Yuvraj is better bowler than Hafeez and Ajmal.
ShahidAfridi Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 India have better batting line up Pakistan have better bowling line up.

Bhajji is in terrible form and he might come back to form next match but still on current form Ajmal and even Hafeez are better Lol class of Gul and Afridi ? Zak is a rung above Gul. Afridi got no class, at least not against us. He averges 55 against Indians, and Gul averages 40+. Don't know what you smoking man.

Yuvraj's been bwoling well and after Zaheer is prolly most likely to take a wicket... You are forgetting that Afridi's mainly become a quality bowler since 2009. And he has only faced india 2 or 3 times since then. i dont know what the figures are but its not a big enough sample size
Mr_Rat Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Law of averages has nothing to do with the actual game.

Karan114 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 yeah my mistake. Yuvraj's been bwoling well and after Zaheer is prolly most likely to take a wicket... Err have you seen how Ashwin has bowled, in the powerplay and death overs? You are forgetting that Afridi's mainly become a quality bowler since 2009. And he has only faced india 2 or 3 times since then. i dont know what the figures are but its not a big enough sample size Dude, don't try and think you can play this BS selective stats argument with me. I know that Afridi had a dreadful 2010. He hasn't "become a quality bowler" since 2009, he has been up and down all career long as his pathetic 2010 record (even if he really became a quality bowler in 2009 as you claim) proves. And roflol at sample size: dude has played 63 games against us. Face it, your captain has been completely PWNED by our batsmen.
satyam1729 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Gul has better average than Khan in both the limited overs format of the game! What matters is test cricket not limited overs format. And Zaheer is ranked no.4 in test. And in this WC Khan has more wickets than any other fast bowler.

Kanpur 2005 comes to mind.. Calcutta does too!! Toronto does too!! :two_thumbs_up:
cricketlover Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 And its funny how you guys conveneiently ignore Zaheer's average of 42 against Pakistan!
Karan114 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 and he's pawend you with the bat many times. Kanpur 2005 comes to mind.. Calcutta does too!! Toronto does too!! :two_thumbs_up: Haha, typical Pak fan: pwned in the argument so shifts to something else entirely. Anyways, since we were comparing Ind/Pak bowling attacks and now you have shifted to batting...do you want to compare the Indian and Pakistani batting line-ups too? I think not, somehow.
satyam1729 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 and he's pawend you with the bat many times. Kanpur 2005 comes to mind.. Calcutta does too!! Toronto does too!! :two_thumbs_up: And yet averages 24. :haha::haha: It is like saying Harbhajan has pwned Pakistan many times because of Asia cup .
satyam1729 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 And its funny how you guys conveneiently ignore Zaheer's average of 42 against Pakistan! So your bowling is as trash as ours but your batsman are nowhere near to our level. Agreed.
