HowardRoark
What are you up do? Can u post something sensible? I will have no problem doing that once you start practising it yourself. But at the moment all you post is biased trash devoid of any logic. And it doesn't deserve anything sensible in reply. Is the burn really hurting? Link to comment
kabira
I think by now Aussies know everyone is going to start with the spinner against them. We should start with two seamers, one over each, don't give away too many runs and then bring spinners. Link to comment

In 1992 world cup everyone knew Deepak Patel was going to open the bowling . Everyone hoped Srikkanth would tear him apart. Alas.. he found just the 1 fielder standing on the long on. Link to comment

In 1992 world cup everyone knew Deepak Patel was going to open the bowling . Everyone hoped Srikkanth would tear him apart. Alas.. he found just the 1 fielder standing on the long on. That was one of the dumbest shots ever. There was only one guy on the boundary on the leg side and that dumb Cheeka found him to perfection! It wasn't as if he wanted to go somewhere else but was beaten by the spin/flight or mishit it to long-on. He was actually trying to clear the lone fielder posted on leg side! Link to comment
kabira
^yes, but just for 2 overs, to confuse them.. Both Watson and Haddin don't sweep much so they can't rotate the strike against spinners. I would give 1st over to Zaheer (to see if there any help, swing) Then Munaf/SS whoever plays. Then if Zaheer got any help continue or else replace with Ashwin. Then replace Munaf with Yusuf Pathan. riwi999
Another reason I'd like Ashwin to open (or bowl the second over after Zak has bowled the first) is because I don't have much faith in our second seamer whoever it is. An early advantage could be very useful and Ashwin seems to have a cool head on his shoulders. Of course the move may misfire but it is no less likely to succeed than bowling a Nehra/Munaf/Sreesanth. jf1gp_1
Raina for gambhir is to big of a gamble , sreesanth maybe its not as if munaf or nehra have done any better than him. At the very least he is a far better fielder than both of them. Link to comment
DomainK
Batting first - India wins. Bowling first - India wins. Rest is immaterial. Link to comment
ganeshran
aussies do have the upper hand in the match Link to comment
ludhianvi
First NewZealand and then Pakistan employed the same tactics against Watson/Haddin. Wouldn't be a surprise if India opt for similar tactics. Link to comment
Ultimate_Game
Nature of Ahmedabad pitch Folks, do we know what is the nature of Ahmedabad pitch? Is it a flat "patta" wkt? Is it a turner? Is it slow and gets slower and lower as the game goes on? Is it abrasive and provides reverse swing to bowlers? Does anyone know what are average scores like in the recent past? I hope it's not flat and doesn't help reverse swing coz Aussie bowlers will use the reverse swing to trigger another batting collapse. Link to comment
kabira
^Zimbabwe started it, choked them to death. Link to comment

Ultimate_Game
I wish we had Ojha in the squad - Aussies struggle against left arm spinners. I would have played all three spinners along with Zaheer in that case. Maybe if Chawla picks up an injury during a net session we can sneak in Ojha :winky: Link to comment
The Outsider
It was sluggish in the earlier matches, not much turn but slow. Not a 320+ patta. In all likelihood, 270-290 would be a par score. Link to comment
cowboysfan
I think Yuvi had a huge role in Ojha being dropped as he is bowling consistently well for some time now. Link to comment
kabira
^Pitches will be slow, not too ways about it. Its freaking hot here. I am just wondering if there will be any reverse swing here. Link to comment
