New Zealand win This will be my last thread for some time, given the loss in the semis All in all, a good bowling and fielding performance, not so much with the bat I give credit to our bowling and fielding unit, as well as to select batters Kallis and AB, well played as usual Faf, great play, see a bright future for the young man Smith, struggled for form and deserved a better send off from ODI cricket than this to be honest I see a lot of promise in this side, and with our newcomers, I suspect that we will only get better While I congratulate New Zealand on their win, especially Daniel Vettori's inspired captaining,I will bring up one incident which I found appalling. After AB was run out, at least four NZ players converged on Faf, taunting and mocking him, along with a man who should not have been on the field at all. This behaviour towards a WC newcomer was disgraceful, surrounding him like a pack of hyenas. I commend AB for going back to help and I hope Vettori will keep his men under control in the future. I also commend Faf for keeping his cool, had I been in his situation, I would have put my bat to good use anyway, unfortunate to bow out, but I wish India the very best of luck, I'm personally cheering for you guys now that we're out. Play well and give Kirsten the send off that he deserves. :hatsoff:

Actually i wonder how botha can be thought as a no 7. i noticed it even during the ind -sa one day series. we won atleast two matches becuase the SA lower order collapsed.but still the SA management took no action though the dangers were already visible. Reece Young retires from cricket

Former BLACKCAPS wicketkeeper Reece Young has announced his retirement from First Class cricket today. Young debuted for the BLACKCAPS in the opening Test against Pakistan in January 2011 and played the last of his five Test matches in the historic victory over Australia in Hobart in December 2011. Young has been a stalwart of the domestic game in New Zealand for 14 years since his debut for Auckland in the 1998-99 season, after representing that province through all age group teams. He is the most capped Auckland player having played 97 First Class matches (126 in total) and holds the record for most dismissals for Auckland with 258. A fine batsman, Young scored eight First Class hundreds with a highest score of 126 not out and was Auckland’s leading batsman in 2008/09 with a total of 557 runs at an average of 50.63. Young also played two seasons for Canterbury in 2010/11 and 2011/12. It was during this period he made his BLACKCAPS debut. Young said, “I am pleased to announce my retirement from First Class cricket. I am proud of what I have achieved and will take away many great memories. However, I feel the time is right to move onto new challenges and prioritise my family and a post-cricket career. It's been a privilege to have made a career in cricket for so long. “I have been fortunate enough to represent my country and play in winning Test sides, win domestic titles with Auckland and Canterbury and have a lot of fun along the way. “I'd like to thank my wife and family for all their support over the past 14 years playing professional cricket.
