Dhruv200 Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 and Imran being labelled ahead of Kapil is the joke of the millennium :two_thumbs_up: Imran khan bottle caps vaseline Kapil the youngest captain to win the world cup enough said.
Bublu Bhuyan Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Inzi being labelled as the best batsman against fast bowling is the joke of the century. Inzamam has 1 century in 120 international innings against Australia and S.A. combined. I'm pretty sure Irfan Pathan could have done better than that provided he were promoted up the order and asked to concentrate solely on his batting.

Thing with Pakis is they like to hype things up when ever Sachin comes to the topic they bring Viv richards if not him then Lara if not him then Ponting who gives a damn about Pakis thing Sachin already been labelled the greatest batsman of all time.

Absolutely true. First Lara, then Ponting, then Kallis ..... not because they necessarily believe that they are/were better but because the batsman whom they are compared to is an Indian. I see the same pattern with Indian posters here when it comes to rating Imran, Akram or Waqar as bowlers.

They are indeed a jealous people . Now as Sachin has successfully surpassed all the above mentioned batsmen , the next batsman that these *****s are going to support against Sachin is Kallis, long debates revolving around Sachin and Kallis especially in Tests are going to occur on a regular basis in the future . Kallis is going to earn a lot of support from his 200 Million odd fans from Pakistan , Just like Ponting enjoyed it for a period from 03-07 .
Asoka Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Absolutely true. Bublu Bhuyan Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Absolutely bro. How can one have the audacity to compare Kapil with Imran or Zak with Akram? Blind patriotism is a dangerous thing. Comparing Kapil with Imran or Zaheer with Akram is almost as laughable as comparing Inzamam with Tendulkar.

Go on any cricket forum or site like cricinfo and you will find hundreds of rubbish comments like " Sachin is selfish " , " Sachin is choker" , " Sachin plays for himself and never for the team" and be assured the poster has a name like Raza , Farhad , Sultan all pakistani scums , plus these thick retards praise Inzamam in the same sentence which confirms there Jaat.

Comparing Kapil with Imran or Zaheer with Akram is almost as laughable as comparing Inzamam with Tendulkar. Plain stupidity should not be excused either. The record of bot Imran and Wasim should have big astreisk behind it. Imran admitted to ball tampering and trust me Wasim did it too. They wre on steroids before testing was prevalent. Their record means nothing, nada, zilch. So keep on drinking the crap from Paki propoganda macchine and start shouting from roof top that Imran is the greatest. The records from that era are meaningless. They were a ball tempering. cheating umpires extremely crooked side.

Midfielder Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Keep on hating. Means a zilch to the rest of the world. There is no hate here. Everyone is created by the same god and I have no right to hate anyone. But for you to tell me tha I should treat an ethically challenged Pakistani captain with staright as arrow Kapil Dev, it aint happening anytime soon.

putrevus Posted April 23, 2011 Author Posted April 23, 2011 those who are pointing out career statistics of Imran and quoting his avg of 37.3 and using that as basis of asserting his batting superiority over Botham and Kapil have no idea of what they are talking about,It is like saying Sangakkara with his higher avg is better odi batsmen than Jayasurya.

You mentioned Sangakkara's average in ODI cricket being superior to Jayasuriya, but the latter has a far better strike rate than Sangakkara. I mentioned both Imran and Kapil's Test batting average, a format where batting average counts for more than strike rate, unlike ODI cricket where both batting average and strike rate holds equal value. I have mentioned that Kapil Dev was a far more talented batsman than Imran. Ian Botham was even more talented than Kapil Dev with the bat. What's irrefutable is that Imran did achieve better results than those two with his determination and grit. Both Kapil and Botham were attacking players who played their shots freely and all they ever aimed for was to score quick runs. Imran on the other hand always valued his wicket and didn't throw it away.
achilles Posted April 23, 2011 Posted April 23, 2011 Imran is from Pakistan. What do you expect him to do? Say that India is playing great cricket, has wonderful players and is a wonderful country? We all saw how Shahid Afridi's attempt went.
putrevus Posted April 23, 2011 Author Posted April 23, 2011 Any sane fan would know that. The problem is that he has this habit of making an idiot out of himself. My above post is the perfect example. Any former and current player would burst out laughing upon reading what he said. First of all, you're comparing Test average with ODI average. You mentioned Sangakkara's average in ODI cricket being superior to Jayasuriya, but the latter has a far better strike rate than Sangakkara. Both Kapil and Botham were attacking players who played their shots freely and all they ever aimed for was to score quick runs. Imran on the other hand always valued his wicket and didn't throw it away. that is biggest folly Imran was never an all rounder of class of Botham and Kapil, When Imran became better batsman which was during later part of his career after 1987 his first retirement ,he had scored 3 hundreds till then he scored 3 hundreds when he was playing mainly as a batsmen, his bowling was nowhere near potent. He was for better part of his career a bowler who could bat unlike Botham or kapil. He never was game changer with bat as Botham or Kapil were, he was definitely a better bowler than both of them but was nowhere in class of them as batsman. The ridiculous set up of Pakistan cricket helped Imran develop as captain and made him greater captain than he actual ever was also, for example Both Imran and Kapil were captains in 1987 world cup when their teams were favored to win in semis but both of them lost in semis and Kapil never got the captaincy back where Imran got it back and 1992 happened now he is greatest captain from Asia in their eyes.

That's true. In the first part of his career he was a wonderful bowler, but pretty ordinary with the bat. And in the second half of his career his bowling started declining while he concentrated on his batting. He was never a game changer with both the bat and the ball simultaneously at any point of his career.

His stats ended better than all four but he never was best among them.
