Of all the experts this guy irked me the most , he was saying Indian team should take sleeping pills and ridiculed Indian bowling. He played two of most useless odi knocks in semis and finals of 1992 but he was lucky he had Inzi and Wasim to bail him out .He goes and trumpets how he won the cup for them in 1992. This policy of keeping wickets till the end and then unleash guys like Razaaq was started by him only .Pakistan has always lived and died by this sword. I don't think Misbah was doing anything different but he is being slaughtered in Pakistan. He becomes hero for Pakistan where as Misbah becomes zero.Even today after the loss he was saying Misbah or Younis should have come up the order and that would have averted pressure on Pakistan. What a clown.

He pisses me off as well. It really ticked me off when he said he won the world cup just so he could start his own hospital or whatever. Nothing to do with the nation or cricket, meaning it was a personal goal (prize money) to kick-start his foundation. I don't understand why we take him as an hero, Misbah played a good innings today but needed support from the 'hitters' and got none. He did not throw his wicket away either.

I feel bad for the guy for this is the 2nd time he's been scapegoated, and I guess this WC could be his swan-song. Oh yeah, Imran Khan did squat in that world cup. It was all Inzi, Javed, and Akram. Then again, he did lead with a bad shoulder. That has to count for something.

Totally agree with that. It's not right from Imran to suggest that he won WC for his own cause.

I agree that speech should have included credit for other players, but still Imran has done a lof for Pakistani cricket and he was the one who mentored Wasim and Inzi. His leadership then was the reason Pak team was very good in the 90s. Even as an analyst, he has been quite good IMO.

I've never liked this guy, he's full of arogance and double standards. He seems to claim that he cares a lot about Pakistan and is proud to be a Pakistani but he married an English woman who was 20 years younger than him and he also has a lovechild with another gori. This isn't exactly setting a good example to people. You can just tell he thinks he's better than everyone else, he is not a man of the people like he claims he is.

Seems like he is pissed off at Pakistan's fielding. But he got one thing right. If your fielding is generally bad it is going to get worse under pressure. That is his take on their fielding.

If we take the below average subcontinent fielding as the de facto standard, then Pakistan were below that standard and India was above it. So even if we didnt reach Saffer, Aussie or Kiwi standards, we didnt too badly :yay:

He seemed to forget he was one of the worst fielders of his era. That legacy has been passed on by himself.

That is correct. They rarely had good fielders. They always focus on getting batsmen out bowled, leg before. Who in the world would still pursue with a doofus like Kamran akmal. They simply disrespect the area fielding. Dhoni kept saying "We cant field any better than this" Suddenly two games in a row we elevated our fielding standard. Today's match was not perfect. People were little sluggish. But catching was okay.

Maybe it was a challenge to his teammates?
