Zap_Brannigan Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 And you know that for sure how? Take a class in probability.
vvvslaxman Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 After listening to Dhoni, i think India might go in with 3 seamers. His explanation is "what if one of the seamer has an off day". Going by that explanation he will go with Sreesanth. It is way too risky move. But who knows he might surprise us like Nehra. But chances are slim as he is out and out test match bowler unlike Nehra who can occasionally do well in ODIs. I am prepared to be surprised.
CG Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Take a class in probability. Probability of sree doing well are 50:50 same with other players unless we have bowlers like mcgrath, marshall, holding, warne.
Zap_Brannigan Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Probability of sree doing well are 50:50 same with other players unless we have bowlers like mcgrath' date='marshall,holding,warne.[/quote'] no.. On an average, Aswhin will end up with 2/49 in 10 overs.Sreesanth meanwhile will be 1 or 2/48 in 8 overs.

vvvslaxman Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 it real life man its not mathematics.probability of sree not doing well is as good as a tossed coin not showing head or tail.have faith he will deliver. I respectfully disagree. His full length balls would disappear to boundary. He can be a wicket taker. He is never going to be an economical bowler. His wicket taking deliveries are also run scoring deliveries. In ODIs it is even more possible batsman will hit through the line of his bowling. We are not going to have 3 or 4 slips in ODIs. Just 1 slip tops. ON a bad day Sree can be a match loser. That is the risk Dhoni will be taking. He is committed player though. IN other words.. if Sree comes good he can finish with 3 for 50 or something. If he goes bad it will be like 0/75 or something. Won't be anything in between. Dhoni will sure play him as he doesn't have full faith in Munaf to bowl well in every single match.
Midfielder Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Take a class in probability. What am I missing over here? Ashwin is such a small sample size that you want to draw conclusions from that? Could you explain that to me Mr. Steven Hawking.

Same could and has happened to zak, munaf.Sree has one thing extra that is pace and swing we need it as zak is great with old ball and if we are able to take wickets with new ball then our bowling attack will be very good.
vvvslaxman Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Same could and has happened to zak' date='munaf.Sree has one thing extra that is pace and we need it .[/quote'] If you have followed Sree's career accuracy is definitely not his forte. You can get away in TEsts. But in ODIs., couple of no balls, wides, half vollies you are looking at a 25 run over. Zak, Munaf are far more accurate than Sree. They can land the ball in the right areas.
Rajiv Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Guys, Sree might do the trick..I think this will be a blessing in disgise
Rajiv Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 these are just mind games to keep the sri lankans guessing. no way is dhoni gonna throw sreesanth into the team for a world cup final. the guy hasnt played a game since the opener, and all of a sudden he is being given the responsibility to deliver in the most important match the team will ever play? riiiiiiiiight. and its not like dhoni has any faith in him. if sri lanka's group stage match against NZ and curator's comments are anything to go by, its gonna be a slow turner with some help for seamers at the beginning. ashwin will definitely play. Just saw his interview yesterday, pace and bounce - sporty wicket, ball will come to the bat nicely 275+ runs
vvvslaxman Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Guys' date=' Sree might do the trick..I think this will be a blessing in disgise[/quote'] Sree is like a box chocolates. You never know what you are going to get :cantstop:

Zap_Brannigan Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Sree will deliver the goods. and you know this for sure how?:finger:
Zap_Brannigan Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 What am I missing over here? Ashwin is such a small sample size that you want to draw conclusions from that? Could you explain that to me Mr. Steven Hawking. Aswhin small sample is size of decent performance outweighs Shreesanths very many failures. An overall avg of 52 against SL at 6.5 RPO and an avergae of 78 at 6.7 RPO in the 3 lankan games last year.

An overall avg of 52 against SL at 6.5 RPO and an avergae of 78 at 6.7 RPO in the 3 lankan games last year. Where were those games placed? What were the variables? You know so little about sports that you are applying some math formulas where the variables you clearly dont comprehend. :finger: Next time you show me that sign I will tell you exactly where to shove it.
Midfielder Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 and you know this for sure how?:finger: I understand sports. Unlike some of you if you read my posts I was the first one asking for 3 pacers . Guess whtat the results were. Think before you comment on sports.
