SL vs major teams (so far) - lost to Pak (#1 in grp A) - NR vs Aus (#3 in grp A) - beat a depleted Eng (#4 in grp B) - beat NZ (#4 in grp A) All they have done is bashed the minnows, beat a depleted Eng and NZ and they are in the final! And according to some, a favorite :hysterical:

Allan Border - "Sri Lanka looks the stronger team on paper". Must be some paper :cheer: Also, Arjuna, doesn't the ICC do whatever BCCI says. How dare they allow a weak team to sneak in. :hitler:

Some stats please: 1. Do Dilshan and Taranga avg even 30 against Pak and Aus in this WC? 2. How have the SL spinners faired against Pak at Colombo (a track that is suppose to favor them)? They didn't get to bowl against Aus.

lol.. you guys are so funny....your so called strongest batting line up team coudnt even cross 300 at many occasions..they even struggled against ireland....india lost to south africa and new zealand won against dem........so you call SL minnow bashers ? SL lost to a sub continent side Pakistan and not any other sides like england to which india actually i call that a loss ..........against AUS ALso sl would have won for sure if they had bowled second as you know ....its way to difficult to chase on that particular ground....if you dont know anything dont put up immature threads.....i hope on sunday no players house gets burnt ...down...........

Dude, please. If your whining captain wasn't enough. Is there anything he doesn't complain about?

Very interesting take. I still wouldn't take them lightly but their resuem so far looks pretty weak. It is the finals though and they do get us when it counts, I have to admit.

Dear SL Lion, you forgot to post the lion's picture :giggle: Btw, the Eng that you beat was w/o some of its key players like KP and the less we talk abt the surface the better :winky: My friend, if I am not wrong, the pitch at Mumbai is suppose to have some pace and bounce (not your doctored pitch) .... You do know what Ind did to SL on similar surfaces, *cough Tauton* *cough Jo'berg* :P

Yes, I bet if this game was in Colombo, they would reuse the same pitch 3rd time in a row. And still probably lose.

Oh hai, aren't you the same guys who got pwned by the Kiwi's in the semis?

pace and bounce ? lol yeh munaf patel at 120 km/h
It means that the batsman cannot just be looking to play on the front foot all the time, and for spinners, it will be difficult to take the pace off the ball .... With slightly more pace and bounce (comparitively), Ind batsmen will look forward to hitting the ball on the rise rather than look to work the ball around most of the time. We like to deal in 4s and 6s :winky:

If you are talking abt the pitch then it was flat :winky:

Rett...SL's route to the finals has been somewhat different but I would not call them a minnow basher...they have been consistent performers and they do have match winners with both bat and ball. There is no clear fav in this world cup finals. A good 30 mins for a single player can turn the match in favor of his team. My heart says India will win but my mind says SL are good..its gonna be a tough one!

I am not saying SL is a bad team or cannot beat Ind but that it's not like what some folks are making it out to be and when I look at SL performance in this WC, the pattern is similar, i.e. minnow bashing and/or performances in friendly conditions :winky:

:hysterical: 1. India can't beat Netherlands and Ireland and Bang comprehensively, and had to struggle. In other words, they cant even bash minnows. 2. The OZ victory is nothing. Therez nothing to celebrate about beating a team that came to subcontinent without a spin attack (I wouldnt consider krezja a spinner, just a slow bowler), and has out of form batsmen. 3. SL lost to a performing Pak team, where younis and misbah milked runs with a partnership.(except Akmal who dropped many). India beat a Pak team that didnt turn up, more or less gifted the match. Nevertheless, good victory against Pak. 4. The record over the past two years Ind Vs SL is 8:8. That shows how even things are. 5. SL was def. beating AUS with three spinners.

Well I feel very little separates Ind from SL...minnow basher or not, it well be a tough match. India will need to play to its strength. SL has an edge on bowling but their batting is shaky after Sanga and that will be crucial if SL is chasing batting second.
