Man it was 3 and Half years Back. And coming back to the Topic, Yes that was Masterclass move froom Dhoni both were not fit enough for the Mordern ODI Game, good for Dhoni was that the Youngsters like Raina, Kohli delivered which didnt happen Under Chappel. And Not many were Youngsters in true Sense when Dhoni axed Rahul and Sourav, Raina had few years of International Experience, Played some domestic cricket too. Virat from this team was Youngster in Rea;l sense. Gambhir was relatively experienced too.

But main stars of Indian win have been players who made their debut well before Dhoni - Sachin, Yuvraj, Zaheer and Gambhir..:-)

maniac Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 ^ For every Jogi,Chawla and Jaddu...there is Yuvraj,Zaheer,Gambhir,Sehwag,Bhajji and SRT who are not exactly Youngistan...There will always be a debate about Dhoni being the best captain ever in the mould of Imran,Mark Taylor and Dada who were known for their eye for talent. Untill then Dhoni fans have to live with that...just like how 10 players letting down SRT on numerous occasions has always stood against him with haters.
youngindia Posted April 9, 2011 Posted April 9, 2011 It was not the best job in viiew of easing youngsters into the team. actually it shud not be fogotten that rohit,tiwary and uthappa were there in 2008 and none of them made it to the WC. especially the case of uthappa could have been costly because he could have been a dangerous no 7. Establishing themselves in the indian team has now become a negative mindset for them. tiwary atleast is showing signs that he is enjoying a revival.
