glogirl Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 TN govt gives rs. 3 cores to the Indian team plus. 1cr to Ashwin
Zap_Brannigan Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 All these govt. gifts are coming out of the pockets of the tax payers and are absolutely unnecessary. BCCI can reward them and thats it. I hope the players come out with a statement to stop this and use the money for funding education or donate it to the armed forces.
Zap_Brannigan Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Delhi - Sehwag, Gambhir, Kohli and Nehra = 1 crore each Punjab - Yuvraj and Harbhajan = 1 crore each Maharastra - Sachin and Zaheer = 1 crore each Gujarat - Munaf and Yusuf = 1 lakh each and a certificate:WTF: Gujarat is the most sensible here. Its not based on emotional or vote bank politics. The award is given to anyone who accomplishes something significant. Just because it happens to be world cup, it doesnt mean tax payers should pay an extra 99 lakhs.
Orange Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I'm sure there're many Indians who've done greater services to the nation than just virtual glory... wonder what the unfortunate masses think of all this. What a shame.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 How much did BCCI give to umpires and opponents in this worldcup? :) and why the bloody hell would the BCCI give anything to the opposition players or the umpires??? Its the ICC that would money to all these people. BCCI is responsible only for the Indian team and it has given money to them.

Sachin=GOD Posted April 5, 2011 Author Posted April 5, 2011 Luxury villas worth a total of Rs 9 crore for Team India NEW DELHI: Real estate firm Amrapali on Tuesday said it will gift villas worth a total of Rs 9 crore to the entire World Cup winning Indian cricket team at its township in Noida extension. Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni is at present the brand ambassador of Amrapali. "Dhoni was presented with an exotic grand villa covering 2,900 sq ft worth Rs 1 crore, while other team members were gifted villas worth Rs 55 lakh each, covering an area of 1,690 sq ft," Amrapali Chairman and Managing Director Anil Kumar Sharma told reporters here. The company will offer the villas at its luxury township -- Amrapali Dream Valley Project -- at Noida extension, he added. When asked if there is a possibility of renegotiation of Dhoni's endorsement fees due to his increased brand equity, Sharma said: "He is a very generous person, he is not business-minded. Whatever previous commitment he has, will not change. So we will not have any impact because of increase in his brand value." Link

BERGKAMP Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I think that if we beat Eng in Eng, and Aus in Aus later in the year, the ICC should award the Ashes to us also. I'm sure our mate Sharad can pull a few strings to make it happen! Imagine the reaction of Athers and Botham to that :giggle:
