Sachin=GOD
I think this World Cup win will affect the popularity of the IPL. Now that we have become World Champions and have won "the Cup that counts" I think people may not care so much about what happens in the IPL and whether their team wins it or not. Your opinions?? EnterTheVoid
If the IPL was before the WC and India did poorly at the WC, than there would have been a serious backlash against the IPL. Now that India won the WC, people will just chill out and enjoy the IPL. They're probably going to view the IPL as a month long after party. Sachin=GOD
Sony Setmax will make more money than Espn/Star' date=' lagi bet[/quote'] There is absolutely no chance of even a single IPL match coming close to the TRPs of India-Pak or India-Lanka. No chance of the Ad rates going as high as they were for India-Pak match.
vvvslaxman
Nothing can match India/Pakistan match. BUt World cup had lot of lame matches upfront. In IPL there may not be many lame encounters coz of balance of the sides are more or less equal.
Switchblade
After the WC Glory franchise would promote the Indian Players really hard and as it is Die Hard Sachin fans or for that matter fans of other players wont miss the chance to watch them live in the stadium and Indian Players are going to be a big draw

No chance of the Ad rates going as high as they were for India-Pak match. Already there is a report that Setmax had almost sold out the add inventory...& that 10 sec spot went for avg 7 lakhs. ESPN avg for WC league was abt 4 lakhs....but from QF they got higher speically for Ind game...with Ind-Pak SF being abt 15 lakhs & Ind-SL final abt 20 lakhs. But the experts are already saying that WC win will attract more fans to IPL. Setmax will make abt the same money as ESPN if not more. This will be IPL more profitable year...& that the good mood will spill over to IPL franchise teams..who will end up selling more of their frachise merchandise then the last 3 IPL year combine. Look at the opener of IPL this year. KKR vs CSK. that should be a huge entertaining game
