^ This. But I think as much as it sounds unfaithful, Indian slectors and board have to be smart. Sachin is not playing the next WC and India will have to blood a few youngsters both in bowling and batting

 hope Sachin reads this within this year.

I don't understand the evasion from Sachin here...Is he actually entertaining thoughts of playing ODI in 2015? He'll be 41 then!! It would have been smart to retire on a high...who knows what is going to happen in 2015?

Huh? He clearly said that it won't be possible to play the next WC (on NDTV). Why does a player have to retire only at the end of a WC? He can retire this year, in 2012, 2013 or anytime. There would be a problem only if a player is not contributing to the team.

It doesn't make sense for Scahin to continue if he is not playing the next WC. Better off allowing the youngster to get 90-100 ODI games under his belt.

There is nothing left for him to achieve. So, what else is there for him to feel passionate about the game (ODIs). Test cricket, I fully understand..he wants to play as long as Ponting is not retiring.

You never know with Sachin. He might play in one off game in 2015 to break Miandad record of most WC appearances.
Who wants to break that stupid record? Sachin will play as long as he enjoys playing and contributing to the team. He is a consistent batsman in the lineup and I don't know why he should hangup now.

He will never retire from cricket but fitness will make him retire! Sachin as of now carries lot of injuries of past and that everyone knows it. I think max 3 years but not 2015 world cup for sure. I would LOVE to see him but let's be realistic.

He just wants us "Sachin fans" to be happy and enjoy the world cup winning moments for some more time rather than put us all in depression and retire now. He is doing it for us. :beee:

I would like to see him go for fearless batting from this point onwards to please the crowd. Unlike 90-00's, the current formidable batting lineup will back him up, if he does not score much.
