King Tendulkar Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 And Imran is a garbage player who would have been found out without ball tampering and neutral umpiring. Grow up. Agree with bits on ball tampering and paki umpiring though:--D
satyam1729 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 If Imran is garbage every cricketer is garbage. So butt out fool' date=' I can no longer endure your stupidity.[/quote'] You call Dhoni a medicore player and call me fool. You made my day. :hysterical:
Utalk Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 But Pakistan was the pioneer in it. Remember Shakoor rana. Dont give me this crap I watched cricket throughout 80s.Umpiring was bad almost everywhere.Imran was the one who championed the cause for neutral umpires. You mentioned Shakoor rana because of getting story but let me break it to you he was not the umpire Eng was angry with it was shakeel khan.

Javed Miandad averaged 92 against India in Pak and 48 against India in India. Why was no such difference in average observed in Gavaskar ?
putrevus Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 nobody is denying He was great player but he is very over rated as a captain. Kapil dev and Imran captained against same West Indies Team in 1983 world cup.Pakistan played West Indies and scored 184 and lost handily in semis. India scored 183 against WI and won by 40 runs. so you decide for yourself. This crap that he is greatest captain and Dhoni has reached his level is utter nonsense.
Utalk Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Javed Miandad averaged 92 against India in Pak and 48 against India in India. Why was no such difference in average observed in Gavaskar ? How would you explain ponting averaging 79 at home and 26 away against India?Cant be blamed on umpires.
satyam1729 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 How would you explain ponting averaging 79 at home and 26 away against India?Cant be blamed on umpires. Are the pitches of India and OZ same ? Whereas pitches of Ind and Pak roughly same.
Utalk Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Average of 48 away is pretty good.He had couple of huge scores against India at home hence his better record.
Dhruv200 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Imran was a cheat he even said with his own mouth that he used to do ball tampering so was sarfraz nawaz dont even compare DEV WITH Imran and Dhoni with Imran.
satyam1729 Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Average of 48 away is pretty good.He had couple of huge scores against India at home hence his better record. And that huge score was due to no lbw being given against him .
ganeshran Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Thats simply not true.Wasim for all his skill was nowhere near Imran khan the test bowler. Imran Khan. Australia 3994 140 1598 64 6-63 24.96 3 1 England 2919 116 1158 47 7-40 24.63 4 1 India 5078 216 2260 94 8-60 24.04 6 2 New Zealand 2191 68 874 31 5-106 28.19 1 0 Sri Lanka 1788 76 673 46 8-58 14.63 3 1 West Indies 3488 111 1695 80 7-80 21.18 6 1 Wasim Australia 2990 102 1288 50 6-62 25.76 4 1 England 3982 150 1748 57 6-67 30.66 2 0 India 2928 104 1299 45 5-96 28.86 2 0 New Zealand 2526 106 1021 60 7-119 17.01 6 2 South Africa 846 36 387 13 4-42 29.76 0 0 Sri Lanka 3274 152 1340 63 5-43 21.26 3 0 West Indies 3550 121 1645 79 6-61 20.82 4 1 Zimbabwe 2401 97 997 47 6-48 21.21 4 1 Looking at these Imran averages below 25 against every team apart from NZ(28).Wasim averages around 30 against Eng,India and SA.Imran has performed better against all the major teams apart from NZ. I find it amazing that people bring up the friendlier bowling conditions in the 80s while comparing batsman's statistics to justify why batsman of that era were better, while completely ignoring that fact while comparing bowlers stats.
Mamu Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Dhoni came in a team of legends, Imran built a team of legends :two_thumbs_up: Stop the comparison....both are awesome. If there was an award of Clownish Troll on ICF -- you should get it. Ooops I said -- something against the Mods Favorite Paki Son -- Waiting for a 5 day ban on ICF now ! What did Imran and his legends achieve? Can you state something? One WC Victory -- even which you know deep down inside your heart was a very very very lucky win, to get there and then win it. One Win outside the sub-continent -- Just One bloody win. Only thing is he commanded respect in an otherwise completely paki team in disarray. And he might have had the vision to recognize players and personally was a good player. But his achievements as a captain is almost zero. People forget the fact -- that with all the embarassing riches that Pakistan has had -- they could never put their skills to use. -- which is why their record is so embarassing outside of Pakistan. With all their Akhtars, Wasims, Waqars, Saqlains, Mushataqs and Qadirs -- what have they achieved -- nothing Not a single series win in 4 countries for more than 25 years. THat is hardly a legends stats . Talking about Dhoni -- who does he have to marshall ? Take a look at the bowling line up. Let us go back to the WC Finals -- with this Bowling Line Up -- Anything under 300 I would have taken at the toss and bowlers win matches. And people who talk about Umpiring being a factor -- need to smell some coffee. Just to put things in perspective -- ever since neutral umpires have come up -- Pakistan Teams stats in Pakistan -- have been nothing -- but dismal.
Mamu Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Mindblowing stats. So long I thought that he was the greatest Paki bowler. It seems I was wrong. He could easily give Marshall a run as the greatest fast bowler ever. :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: OMFG -- What do you smoke Asoka -- can you pass it on to me? Have you ever watched Marshall bowl? Now are speaking like those Pakis who compare Sachin with Inzi!
ganeshran Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 Akram was a far more talented bowler than Imran. Imran's batting however made him a bowling all rounder. It was his captaincy that was a stand out not his cricketing abilities (which were also great but not legendary).
Asoka Posted April 4, 2011 Posted April 4, 2011 :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: OMFG -- What do you smoke Asoka -- can you pass it on to me? Have you ever watched Marshall bowl? Now are speaking like those Pakis who compare Sachin with Inzi! Stats dont lie. Imran has an awesome record everywhere in the world. He has demolished WI and Ind big time. Marshall was better but Imran isn't far behind.

Marshall was better but Imran isn't far behind. Did you watch Marshall bowl? especially between 81 and 86 I did -- and I know what I mean. Certain characteristics of greatness don't lie in numbers, you have to experience it. And your statement is an insult to the Greatest Fast Bowler who walked the face of earth.

There is simply no comparison between Marshall and Imran Khan (even though Imran was an outstanding bowler).

BTW Miandad has himself said that Umps were on their side during the test series against Aus. There were page scans of an autobiography (Steve Waugh I think) that was posted here. Ofc you are free to not believe it.
