He battered Harbhajan Singh who wasn't even trying to deceive batsmen (only aiming for the blockhole) for 3 6s in one over in that game and Joginder Sharma for 1 in the final over, not exactly threatening bowlers are they. Both should have been smashed by Misbah, by Sohail Tanvir or whoever else was batting during that phase. Like I said, Misbah has helped India win 3 games, I remember the tie in the T20 as well, what a joke, he had 3 balls to get a single and the punk kept tapping it gently to cover and mid off. Hope this pile of garbage never plays for us again, he's a curse for us. Once again, when your superstar Afrdi got out, you guys needed 40 odd in 14-15 deliveries. The fact that you tied the game was in itself an achievement. Did you notice a common factor, in each of those games, Afridi did hardly anything with the bat and bottled it at the worst possible time.

You still have not replied to the original points I made, which I will as you agreeing with me. So yes I'm glad you agree, that Pakistan should have won that game and the 2 others in the T20 WC and that it was a choke from them more than India outplaying them.

No one has mentioned Afridi in this thread, because the thread is about Imran and Misbah. As for Afridi I have said for years and years, he should be batting at 10 or 11, he simply is not sensible enough to bat higher. As for the argument that what Misbah has done by getting Pakistan close in all of those games, it's pointless coming close and not finishing the job. Misbah bats at 5/6 in those games, it's his job to finish the game, that's what he's supposed to do, not go close and fail. There is no justification, Misbah's job (and all who bat for Pakistan) is to complete the job, by hanging in there till the end makes him no better than the others.

Good players have abilty to work ball for singles or / and hit balls for boundaries. Misbah has no ability to hit ball in to gaps and work it

It means you bottle it when it matters.
urbestfriend Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I dont think it is right to compare Misbah's innings with Imran's innings. Going by the scoreboard, Imran got out at 134 which means there was still long way to go after he got out. Its understandable that he was trying to build a partnership in the early stages of Pak's innings which is fair. Misbah's intent in the early stages is not questionable but he kept on defending and didn't show any intent ever RRR was soaring which was really perplexing.

This exposed him in crunch situation. He lacks talent in manouvering the ball in to gaps for singles and 2s. In fact working the ball like that is harder skill then smashing boundaries. It was a flat track, an absolutely dead wicket, even the useless openers were scoring runs on that wicket. Had Asas Shafiq, Fawad or Hasan Raza, in fact had anyone been playing they would have been able to play out the day.

He lacks talent So he should then be hitting the ball shouldn't he? If you can't rotate the strike, surely do some scoring, even if it means hitting out. This guy is a decent enough hitter, especially against the spinners. It is 95% mental with him, which is why he needs to be dropped and told to never come back again.

Misbah and YK are your best batsman in a team full of sloggers. The other classy batsman MoYo has retired and waiting to come back. Once a team without Misbah does poorly many fans will be clamoring for his return.
