BeautifulGame Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Poeple are just critizising him for fun . They did the same with Dhoni and Yuvraj till world cup . Now they have no one else they are picking up on Sreesanth. He was playing his 1st match since 4 weeks suddenly in a world cup final. He managed the pressure of WC final decently when u consider how much it affected Zaheer in 2003 Still he bowled well in his first spell considering he most of his balls were faced by Dilshan WC's leading scorer. He did a decent job containing him in initial overs He went of runs in his 2nd and 3rd spells. But which fast bowler didnt? Even zaheer was taken to the cleaners in his return spells becoz of the shortened boundaries and lightning fast outfields. He may not have performed outstandingly but he certainly didnt let the team down especially when u consider the situation he was drafted in. My only issue with him was his extras. If he can rectify them he will be a good ODI bowler for us future. He has not let the team badly since his return in 2009 vs Srilanka. He has been very consistent for us but unfairly critisized because of his past which is very unfair on him.
satyam1729 Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 ^^^^^ Averages 45 in test match since that SL return.
Sachin=GOD Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I had those bowlers in mind when i made that statement. They are bowlers of different class, apart from Kemar Roach and T Southee. Both of whom are very promising young bowlers. Also, Shreeshanth only played two games 1st and the final, which arguably not the easiest thing to do. I am in no way saying he was the best bowler but trying to look at his "performance" objectively, rather than just criticize. thats 2 out of the 5 bowlers I named. Sree does not have temperament and attitude for ODIs, he should stick to Tests. It will prolong his test career and save him from embarrassment.
BeautifulGame Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 ^^^^^ Averages 45 in test match since that SL return. This is the problem with our fans judging only based on averages not overall performances . His average in SA series looks poor because we had a really poor 1st test where we were done in by conditions . But he did he perform in 2nd and 3rd tests. Who took those vital wkts of Kallis and Devilliers with magical deliveries to win us that test? Most of our bowlers will have poor averages because we more often then not encounter flat road wickets once in a series which ruins their averages. But our bowlers perform in vital test matches to win us tests and series. This is the same with Harbajan. He had a poor first test but great 2nd and 3rd tests and bowled like a champion in SA series. But no we will look at averages and say he only had a decent series. As our fans keep on saying only Zaheer bowl well for India how does our bowlers keep on tking 20 wkts in test match after test match? Surely Zaheer isnt taking all 20 wkts?

Sachin=GOD Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 #Sreesanth36 - "long hair is gone..feels good..long hair was for world cup win..and now..that's. With us..champions " He thinks he can be successful like Dhoni just by cutting his hair :hehe:

ravishingravi Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 The retard should get his act together. Or maybe not. He literally lost the WC single handedly. Was literally stuttering his way to the stumps at stages. His mental fragility and his artficial aggression/emotion is going to prevent him from being a good bowler.

Misu243 Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Props to Dhoni for letting Sreesanth play in the FINAL of all matches...
yoda Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Sreesanth got hammered any time he pitched short of a length. That 8 meter mark. He is not able to extract bounce probably due to height or action. So it just sits up. Look at the pitch map of Sreesanth in the final. Most of the short of a length deliveries were pummelled. When he got good lengths then it was wide. So either he was short or wide or both. I am surprised the wicket is not in between those two pitch maps. :hehe:
achilles Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Sreesanth, start picking up wickets. And to do that, work on the damn line and length. And try to prove to everyone that picking you is not a mistake.
akshayxyz Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 ^ I was impressed with his seam position and ability to swing in his early days. It is sad that he has not been able to complement the talent with discipline and temperament.

akshayxyz Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 When a coach makes a special mention about you' date=' you must work well to fulfill your dreams[/quote'] True - it should be more than enough to motivate even Ravindra Jadeja...wait no.
achilles Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 True - it should be more than enough to motivate even Ravindra Jadeja...wait no. I think we are pretty harsh with Jaddu. He's done a good job for us with the ball.
akshayxyz Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I think we are pretty harsh with Jaddu. He's done a good job for us with the ball. true, but he was so lethargic with the bat that even a bucket full of red bull would have no effect on him.
achilles Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 ^ Yes. He wasn't the all-rounder we were looking for. Now with Yusuf Pathan in the fray, Suresh possibly working on his bowling, the going is going to get difficult for Jaddu.
Hindustani Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Idiot, he still hasn't matured a bit, he should Not be selected in ODI or T20s, let him play County and Ranji for 1-2 years and then we will see his progress
achilles Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Send him to England. That will turn his life around. It made Zaheer the devastating bowler he is today.
