Ravindra Jadeja come back thread

He was selected based on IPL performances before...we will probably make the same mistake again. Kohli, Yuvraj, Rohit, Uthappa have all given match winning performances under pressure...even though they were in their early 20's. Two of them have lost their way now...but are def much better under pressure. Same with PP...he opened against Shoaib...when he was 19?...scored useful runs in a test match. So yea, 20yr old or not...to perform at the international level...have to be able to take it all. Jadeja has talent...I am just doubting his temperament. His fielding is def a plus...especially his throws from the deep...probably has the best arm when it comes to Indian fielders. All the work put into him by Young when at RR has paid off.

Man if we go by IPL performances' date=' Paul V would play ahead of Sehwag, Jaddu would be ahead of Harby , Rayudu would replace Gambhir and Bala would replace Zak. Please stop getting orgasms every time someone does well here claiming he is back in the Indian team.[/quote'] Well, the difference is he is always performed in domestic matches, he clearly has a good background and moreover, what he offers is all round skills which we lack in our indian team. And the difference here is that there are still people like you who pray for Jaddu not to succeed. That is pathetic, and whenever he plays well, there are tons of reasons, poor batting that why he goes wickets, poor bowling(full toses)that why he scored. That is really stupid.

He is neither good enough to qualify purely as a batsman nor purely as a bowler. If is going to replace someone in the Indian side it will be Bhajji. Both of them dart.

I am not one of those who prays for players to not succeed, but it doesn't make sense to keep recycling failed players in the national team before giving chances to those who haven't had their turn yet.

Look, we can argue all day, but he has clearly shown in IPL and both domesticly that he can both bat and bowl. Moreover, he has already shown he is capable bowler in ODIs and if his batting improves like now, see no reason why it will not succeed.

If he can't be a match winner.. least he could do is not be a match loser. But lost many matches with his slow, clueless batting. When he was with Royals he played almost similarly for them. We picked him only based on that. He failed spectacularly.

If we use your approach, we would have changes after each match. There would have never been any Kohli, Sachin, Sehwag, Raina, Zaheer, gambhir playing in our team if this had happened. Again the recycled failed player being Jadeja is wrong

Did you see Morne Morkel's six today :winky: . He is not a wicket taking bowler. He just darts.

Well, let me tell you if it would have your favorite, IP or Utappa, you lot would have started wanking and posting huge praises for him. Do not judge Jadeja differently with different criteria.

No . I saw IRfan. He is not even 5% of what he was when he was doing well. So no chance of him coming back either. Uthappa definitely a game changer. He has already done it at the international level. Also the way he strikes the ball is in whole different league compared to Jaddu .

Then maybe learn cricket if you do not Jadeja is even 5%. I guess you lot all need to grow up and start being more professional in the sense of not blaming a single player and having personal issues with him then. And all 3 players you mention are strugglers and have different roles, but it is Jadeja who is showing most promise and can improve the most(potential). The other 2 had their chances for the last 5 years, while Jadeja has done considerablely well in his first 2 years. It is a pity that talent is recognized, no wonder we have tons of 27-28 years old players for example Gambhir who come into the scene late as people like you do not know how to even judge talent and young players and thus waste many years of services they could have done more.

In the heat of discussion people are forgetting a few things (1) Time doesn't stop. Players change(read develop) with time. (2) Yuvraj Singh @20 years old was not the same as The YUVI @ 27, Suresh Raina at 19 wasn't half as good as Raina@ 23 .Same goes for many people including Ganguly and Gambhir, some of whom weren't even as good as Jadeja when they were given their first extended run in the team. Conclusion - Players learn with age and experience. Recent performance clearly shows that RJ is developing. Development is much faster in the early 20s because the learning curve is steep and the physique is still building up. It never stops (SRT@38). The opposition will always find your weaknesses and target them. And that gives you a definite direction to move ahead at all times. (3) If Ravindra Jadeja succeeds at whatever platform, its not a bad thing for India. It can only be helpful in the long run. Whenever a player performs well enough to deserve a chance, he should be given one. If he is not able to make use of the chance, he can be dropped (like he has been). Lets not jump the gun and make conclusions he can never succeed. Let us leave it to him to try and succeed. (4) A part of the reason why everyone hates Jaddu so much could be that people aren't able to connect with him. He doesn't know english. He has never been held accountable for his failures that have cost india. His stature doesn't inspire much confidence et al.

Kohli' date=' Yuvraj, Rohit, Uthappa have all given match winning performances under pressure...even though they were in their early 20's.[/quota'] Pointless examples. what yuvraj did in 2000 was no longer relevant to what he coud do in 2005. that's the point. yuvraj averaged under 30 as long as 50+ matches! rohit also has a similar record.uthappa also similar! even sachin and dravid were under 30 for more than 30 matches! to become a established sports player, it takes years of experience. indivduals are different and they have their own background and issues. becker won GS at 17 and lendl won one at 24.In the end, lendl had two more gs than becker! hasan raza made his debut at 14(by pakistanis).infact he helped inzamam with a partenrship at toronto vs india and where he is now! As long as you have a sucessful career in the end, who cares what you did at 20 or 17 I can give you an example of a 24 yr old with one county century and no FC century who ended up with test average 50+. who is he? rohit and uthappa would dream of being him! works in wonderland!. In the real world, people mature and evolve gradually with time. that's how it really works. Plenty of promisg people had temperament problems as a young men and have become champions. At that age, there is a lot of scope for improvment.hence your point is very short term and irrelevant over a longer period.

Nicely summed up! you have put it much more concisely than i maanged to do!
He played pretty much the same way in the first IPL.
you are so wrong its not funny. in this IPL he has struck fluently ,many sixes and and has damaged teams lke MI. and comparing uthappa's striking today to jadeja is faulty. different age groups.
