jibranpatel15 Posted April 11, 2011 Posted April 11, 2011 well since IPL 1 its only Tanvir only Overseas player to have won Purple cap. 2nd IPL it was RP Singh 3rd IPL was Pragyan Ojha Currently its Malinga with 5 wickets but ABDULLA AT 4 & Trivedi,A.singh,Steyn,Wagh all at 3. Can an Over seas player win it this time ????? I think yes but lets find it out at the end of the IPL 4.
jibranpatel15 Posted April 11, 2011 Author Posted April 11, 2011 I feel Malinga will not lose this cap till round Robin. Simply bcoz when u try to go after him at the death he will get u unless its his bad day & 2 wickets are almost there for him every game he plays. If not with new ball then at the death.
rkt.india Posted April 16, 2011 Posted April 16, 2011 Orange cap ka thread to bana liya...purple cap ka kaun banayagea...that is why we do not get bowlers in country...bowlers ko koi puhcta hi nahi....bechaare bandhuaa majdooro ki tarah lage rehte pitne me:--D
jibranpatel15 Posted April 21, 2011 Author Posted April 21, 2011 Malinga still leading the list with a match in hand compared to other in top list.
bansalsam8 Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Lasith Malinga is holding Purple cap in the IPL 2011 but he will lose that if he went early as per the Sri Lankan Board instructions.
jibranpatel15 Posted April 22, 2011 Author Posted April 22, 2011 Malinga has taken 2 more today so he moves to 13 wickets with 2nd best to him is just 7.

vvvslaxman Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Malinga is head and shoulders above everyone else. I don't think anyone else can catch up with him .
Zelig Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Malinga is bound to be rested for the final few matches in the league once the bambis have secured a place in the final four. That's when others come into picture. Interestingly, if the bambis finish top of the table n win their qualifier as well, then they would have played 16 matches in all (incl. Qualifier & final). Say suppose, RR finish third, then they will play an eliminator vs fourth best team. Let's say RR win, then they get to play the II qualifier vs the Q1 loser. If they win that as well, their total tally of matches by end of it all will be 17 (E + Q + Final). One extra match + Malinga rested matches gives a chance for rest of the pack :wizard: But the noodles bambi looks well n truly on his way to win the purple kulla :((
sachinrox Posted April 25, 2011 Posted April 25, 2011 Slinger has sealed it now with 9 wicket lead. He is unstoppable

SachDan Posted May 5, 2011 Posted May 5, 2011 Keeping track of the way how Malinga wears it..front to back or back to front? :haha:
Holysmoke Posted May 7, 2011 Posted May 7, 2011 So there has been a rule change this IPL. By popular demand, just like how bowlers are allowed only 1 bouncer per over, Malinga will be allowed only 1 yorker per over. :finger:
