India is in a win win situation as far as conditions are concerned.. green, windy condition - Seamers apart from Zaheer will be able to contribute meaninfully aswell. England's batsmen were all over the place last year. On the other hand Indian batsmen are technically strong enough to counter these swinging conditions eventhough I feel that Sehwag might struggle. flat tracks - India will own England

Not really. Our bowling will become even worse on flat tracks. Sure, the batsmen can get more runs but you need 20 wickets to win. A wicket with a bit of movement will be good for India.

Yeah, we saw how even New Zealand's batsmen managed to stave off our bowlers on flat tracks. A wicket with something in it (whether for spin or pace) is always best for us because our batsmen are technically sound enough to score runs anywhere.

Anderson was so good against Australia. I watched every game and I can honestly say each time he came on to bowl, he looked like he was going to take a wicket. In fact he was unfortunate not to have more.

I don't like the arrogance on this thread. We barely managed to escape the test at lords last time...thanks to Dhoni and bad light. I have a feeling that Tremlett will be the one to watch out for.

Why would you write off someone who has been a brilliant test bowlers in the last 2-3 years?Anderson may have been rubbish earlier buthe has now become a complete test match bowler very much like Zaheer. On the series, would be wonderful to see green pitches helping bowlers on all 5 days (like the one in Durban in SA). Such kind of tracks aided by the English weather will make our bowling attack that much more potent. And Bhajji will enjoy the bounce like he did in SA. Sehwag's likely absence though will be a huge factor abd the others will have to step up which I am sure they will :)

Yeah Rammz conditions helped in 2007 and even in that MSD innings there was an LBW decision that went our way incorrectly. Im not convinced our attack is as good now as it was then- R P Singh was superb then for instance. Will Zaheer be as good coming off a incredibly hectic few months and just as importantly who will the pace support be and how well will they bowl... Anderson is a world class swing bowler and Englands pace attack has good strength in depth and theyve got some exciting young batting talent coming through also- expect James Hildreth to make his test debut this summer. James Taylor is a classy young bat. Both those guys did very well on the Lions tour of the WI (where they played in the WI domestic competition- might question the quality of that particular tourno but good experience nonetheless. A few years ago Im sure the Eng Lions played in the Duleep trophy too... can our A team not do something similar?) Also Vettori-esque 19 yr old SLA Danny Briggs topped the wicket takers list... Ben Stokes is looking like a very good all rounder, he smashed a ton when Eng bt us in the U19 WC last year. Woakes looks useful though perhaps not test class. The current leader of the Div 2 wicket taking list is a 17 year old left arm pace man Reece Topley. Yorkshire have got an exciting young side with opener Adam Lyth and keeper Bairstow the picks... Of course it remains to be seen how many can carry on to international cricket, but if I was an England fan Id be quite excited...

On a turning wicket, I would back Bhajji and Ojha to be more effective than any opposition spin attack - even if they have better spinners than us, our batsmen will handle them better.

Hildreth has had a woeful start to the season, and he has batted on the flattest track in England his whole career, would prefer Ben Stokes because he looks like he can destroy attacks and would take the game away from the opposition and he is very good against spin but maybe he is a bit young yet.
