Chandan Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Link Duncan Fletcher appointed as Team India coach 27 Apr 2011, 1201 hrs IST, AGENCIES Zimbabwe-born Duncan Fletcher was on Wednesday (April 27) appointed as the coach of the Indian cricket team. The former England coach will replace Gary Kirsten just ahead of India’s tour to West Indies. Fletcher bagged the top job in the Indian team ahead of names like former New Zealand skipper Stephen Fleming and former Zimbabwe player Andy Flower. Fletcher happens to be Kirsten's recommendation and certainly someone with a proven record. Earlier, there were reports that Eric Simons would be made an interim coach for the upcoming West Indies tour. India are scheduled to visit West Indies from June 4 to July 10 which will be immediately followed by a much longer tour of England involving four Tests, a T20 game and five one-dayers.

It would be important for Dhoni to develop an equation with him 2. I feel we are over reacting. The guy has earned his stripes, he is a shrewed tactician and knows how to win. Above all, Gary recommended him and that is probably why he got the job so fast, knowing Gary and his understanding of our team's psyche, he would not recommend a control freak and a ego-maniac for us.

This will be a disciplinarian and just annoy everyone. He will probably try and retire sachin after a couple of misfields. BBCI are dumb. This guy is gonna be bad for indian cricket.

Treat them as friends and they will do everything for you. And hopefully someone has gifted him John Wright's autobuography as well.

They again were quiet , behind the scenes coaches. Why dont BCCI ever learn Frankly we need a weak coach awho is good at putting cones out for training drills and who will chat with players over a cup of tea. These tough arrogant coaches like fletcher will not work for indian team
