Hey guys, Am I the only one that thinks Sehwag can't play spin anymore? He is good presence for the Indian dressing room but I really think he does not have the ability to compete on the world class stage anymore. He is the last person in the team I would want to come in when its a backs to the wall job right now. :two_thumbs_up:

Why would this post get closed? Its an opinion which I believe holds a lot of truth. Sehwag is not the player he was, yes he is good for the dressing room and his battling attitude rubs on other the younger players in the side but his batting is worrying at times.

Underestimate Sehwag at your own peril. He has the capacity to bounce back wonderfully. Anyways this is IPL so good that he isnt playing well

If you watch that double century properley, he was dropped on 57 and it was a dolly. I cannot count on my hand how many times he played and missed. The pitch was a road and he should have scored big runs. He is impressive, sure, but he is no way as good as he was. I think it is time the Indian selectors woke up and smelt the coffee. Personally, I would drop Sehwag and give him a coaching role.

So by pointing out that he was dropped during that innings, are trying to say that he actually scored 150 runs less??? He scored that double when Mendis was still a mystery, and that he gave only 1 chance when the likes of Dravid and Laxman were finding it next to impossible just to survive, is a testimonial to his ability. During the 195 against Australia, he took Macgill to the cleaners. Though Stuart is by no means a Warne, he was still a very good spinner. Then the 293 against Murali and co. Add the Asia cup finals when he again was the oly one to be able to play Mendis.

Im sorry, but because you have mentioned Sehwag scoring runs against the likes of Stuart MacGill tells me that in actual fact you do not know that much about this great game. I think a few of you are reacting over the top to some of the points i have made. I take great displeasure in being called a Pakistani. I love India and cricket. Sehwag has done wonders for this team but we need to look to the future now. I would feel it would be the wrong decision to exempt him from the team completely. I would have him as the mind healer and techinique coach.
