panther Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 Says the fan of a guy known as "Desert Fox" :hysterical: If you take out Sharjah as the venue I think Anwar might be averaging in 20s :giggle: As for Sehwag, I doubt Anwar would be able to play the sort of innings Sehwag has played outside or in teh subcontinent... SC - 2 triples and multiple doubles all scored at run a ball :hatsoff: Outside SC - 100s in SA, Aus, Eng. I doubt Anwar managed a 100 in SA or Aus in his whole career :haha: Just coz Sehwag so stupendous in the SC doesn't mean he didn't do anything outside SC and something which Anwar & Pakis could only dream of :cantstop: lol sehwag has scored most of his 100+ scores in india whilst so called ftb anwar has scored 4 out of 11 century's in pak.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 lol sehwag has scored most of his 100+ scores in india whilst so called ftb anwar has scored 4 out of 11 century's in pak. So in nutshell that hack Anwar managed to score just 7 100s out of his country :hysterical: And the so called FTB Sehwag actually has more 100s outside India than FTB Anwar had in his whole career :cantstop:
panther Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 So in nutshell that hack Anwar managed to score just 7 100s out of his country :hysterical: And the so called FTB Sehwag actually has more 100s outside India than FTB Anwar had in his whole career :cantstop: ftb sehwag has scored 12 out off 22 100s in india. so how has ftb scored more 100s outside india than anwar has in his whole career. lol anwar played less games than ftb that's why he has less 100s. but in odi he has more 100s in less games than sehwag.
Ultimate_Game Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 ftb sehwag has scored 12 out off 22 100s in india. so how has ftb scored more 100s outside india than anwar has in his whole career. lol anwar played less games than ftb that's why he has less 100s. but in odi he has more 100s in less games than sehwag. My mistake! So Sehwag only has 10 100s outside of India compared to 11 which Anwar had in his whole career :hysterical: Yup, Anwar was so great wasn't he :hysterical: As for lesser games, I am sure since Anwar was such a run machine he would definitely have a higher average, wouldn't he? After all it's easier to have a higher average in less no. of games. Since Anwar was so great that average must be earth shattering leaving Sehwag behind in dust. Now what was his average like again? Oh, I just checked! Couldn't believe my eayes :omg: The great Anwar averages a mind boggling 42 :omg: Must be a cricinfo conspiracy for sure :giggle: Or maybe the truth is Anwar was never good and is more comparable to Wasim Jaffer :haha: As for odis since Sehwag is a FTB, how many did Anwar score outside of SC? Oh I forgot, the guy couldn't do much outside Sharjah and as we all know Sharjah matches are not "flat" tracks for Pakis :hysterical: Anwar, the hack who could only cut it in Sharjah is now compared to Sehwag :cantstop:

Pagalpanti Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 ^Well if Anwar couldn't average more than Sehwag on those 'flat' tracks that says something. either way Sehwag is better than Anwar statistically
panther Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 ^Well if Anwar couldn't average more than Sehwag on those 'flat' tracks that says something. either way Sehwag is better than Anwar statistically no it shows that sehwag is a far bigger ftb than anwar. meaningless runs on flat pattas which end in draws boost sehwags average.
Asim Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 ... If you take out Sharjah as the venue I think Anwar might be averaging in 20s :giggle: ... so all of ur aalysis always based on assumptions? including Sharjah: 39.21 excluding Sharjah: 37.73
Ultimate_Game Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 45.52 infact is his test average. ftb sehwag averages about 5 more than anwar but his average is highly inflated by smashing runs on flat tracks. Yup, as if Anwar was scoring those runs on greentops in England, seaming tracks of SA or bouncy pitches in Aus :hysterical: As I said Sehwag has more 100s in Aus, SA and Eng than what Anwar could even dream about :giggle: At the end of the day, Anwar was a hack who could only do anything in Sharjah. If you take out Sharjah he was at best a mediocre player. In Tests even though Anwar played fewer matches than Sehwag he still averages considerably less and we all know how many tons Anwar scored in Aus & SA :giggle:
panther Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 This statistic shows which batsman were ftbs and which were not as you can see anwar 1 of the few batsman who's averages increase when you exclude draws and matches are played in opposition territory. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/stats/index.html?class=1;filter=advanced;home_or_away=2;orderby=batting_average;qualmin1=2000;qualval1=runs;result=1;result=2;template=results;type=batting
Ultimate_Game Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 so all of ur aalysis always based on assumptions? including Sharjah: 39.21 excluding Sharjah: 37.73 And pray tell me how this "great" oushone Sehwag? With his gawdy average of 37? Or was it since he couldn't play more matches in Tests so the world missed out on seeing Anwar average 70+ the matches he didn't play :giggle:
Crookbond Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 On those meaningless Pattas too Anwar couldn't do jack sh!t, so Sehwag is now better than Anwar both in and outside the SC :hysterical:
panther Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 On those meaningless Pattas too Anwar couldn't do jack sh!t' date=' so Sehwag is now better than Anwar both in and outside the SC :hysterical:[/quote'] no it's not about who's better it is about which 1 is the bigger ftb and well sehwag well and truely is the bigger ftb.

Sehwag will go down as a legend of the game who will go down as someone who changed the game. The very fact McCullum and Warner started opening is testament to the fact. No way a guy like Warner would have ever been selected as an opener if Sehwag hadn't shown what could be done by a destructive opener at the top of the order.

Ultimate_Game Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 no it's not about who's better it is about which 1 is the bigger ftb and well sehwag well and truely is the bigger ftb. Sehwag is better than Anwar at everything. Period. be it at home, in SC or away from SC. Anwar was a one trick pony and couldn't do much of note anywhere. Average of 45 suggests he's more in the class of Wasim Jaffer than anything else.
Crookbond Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 no it's not about who's better it is about which 1 is the bigger ftb and well sehwag well and truely is the bigger ftb. Because he scores more runs than Anwar in the SC and scores more runs than Anwar outside SC, he becomes a "Bigger FTB" than Anwar? Such logic may be tolerated in military camps but not here my friend.
Crookbond Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 quality runs> quantity this is where anwar trumps sehwag. So who defines quality - President Pervez Musharraf in London or Benazir Amma in hell ?
Ultimate_Game Posted August 6, 2012 Posted August 6, 2012 quality runs> quantity this is where anwar trumps sehwag. I didn't see such "quality" shine through anywhere from Anwar :haha: Maybe something like Sehwag's 201 when the team was all out for 320 odd, or 195 at MCG, or 100 at Durban/SA, or even 150+ in Aus at Adelaide. Pity Anwar loses out at everything - quantity, quality, average, strike rate. As I said, Anwar was an average batsman and in Sehwag-speak Anwar was "ordinary" :giggle:
