Don't have any issues with their players taking part in any league. They are all professionals and would want to make as much money as possible before their short career comes to an end. Don't even recall any present Pak player questioning the standard of cricket played in the IPL, it's Pak cricket fans double standard that's irritating..those who never misses an opportunity to ridicule IPL calling it 'tamasha league' 'bollywood league' etc are all having collective orgasm at hearing the news of few of their players representing in another 'T20 League'.

"Bollywood League" is the perfect compliment, not only stars play the game but stars come to watch it!

It is not a possibility in the sense.. knowing pak fans they pay attention to even street cricket if one of their players play. Couple of weeks back Malik played in one of the local Delhi club match. It had significant attention from Pak fans. Same way ICL was followed more religiously by Pakistanis than Indians. Hongkong sixes.. Do any of us give a damn? No. But Pak fans treat it as a festive occasion. Also look at the reasons they say why it is a circus. Catches dropped :hysterical: . I mean come on. Matches fixed ... they say that in international matches also.

Fair enough, but the issue is for example the hypocrisy of Afridi, he can't make his mind-up if IPL is a joke, tamasha, pissed off not being selected to play...whilst he instantly snaps at opportunity someone offers him a 20/20 contract. And the fact that not many people would be surprised if he plays in the IPL with all crap he dishes about IPL and comments he made about India in general after the semi-final loss.

We're both going to watch the Eng-India test series this summer and he is looking forward to it as much as me, just as most cricket fans are. My point is that if he told you that he is a Pakistani and hates the IPL, you'd immediately assume that it was jealousy. You can't make such assumptions. There are morons like the trolls on this forum who diss the circus league but are waiting for the crap SL league. However, not everyone is like that.

Obviously, prejudgments like that will always be their because he is pakistani, people make perceived judgments on someone before knowing them everyone, and stereotyping of groups of people will always happen. Pollard might not be a top player, but definitely within the current West Indies team he would be one of the better ones. Pollard has definitely got the potential, but the only way I can see him become a top level international player is by playing First Class cricket, and performing at Test level. Even for example a batting average of 30-35 at Test level would do wonders for his one-day batting.

Problem with IPL is its too long, way too much of Bollywood, stars and disco and is ruining international cricket by influencing boards and players. It may seem good to you guys, but even if Pakistani players were playing, I would still call it too much tamasha league. I didn't even follow the first edition. Individual preference I guess.

Individual preference I guess.[/quote'] IPL is too long for what? If it was shorter, then the players would be getting paid even less as IPL would be making a lot less money. I hope you understand how business works. IT would also mean that team wouldn't be selecting 30 players for their squad and would lead to much smaller squads. Even with 10 teams and around 30 players per team, 300 players who wanted to play in IPL, couldnt be selected. If IPL was just 2 weeks as SLPL, then it would make no sense for anyone to invest heavily in it. Besides, It gives people like me, who follow IPL a good,entertaining, short game of cricket everyday for nearly 2 months. I can always turn off the TV if it gets boring. I dont think BCCI has napped my remote to make me watch only IPL. As much as i hate bollywood, the actors are not the ones playing cricket in the middle. So i have no idea why you think that IPL is about bollywood at all. Do you think that the WC was about ex-players and politicians, since their faces were shown on TV too? The last bit about ruining international cricket is very similar to how pak looks at its problems. Its always someone else who is to blame. IPL does not influence any board. It is the players who want to play in IPL that do that. So stop blaming IPL and put the blame where it rightfully belongs. SL team did not leave earlier for the Eng tour because SLCB signed a NOC agreement. Some WI players are not playing in the current series is because they like playing for IPL teams more.

I want it to for a whole season. Each team play about approx 40 games per season. International players can come and go depending on thier availability and the backs up take the place as reinforcements. Just like any other sport.
