Feed Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 India's Virender Sehwag faces surgery and could miss England tour More.. Virender Sehwag faces surgery and could miss England tour • Opener ruled out of rest of IPL with shoulder injury • 32-year-old expected to undergo surgery in London Press Association guardian.co.uk, Tuesday 10 May 2011 Virender Sehwag appears to be a doubt for India's tour of England after being ruled out of the remainder of the Indian Premier League season with a shoulder injury. The Board of Control for Cricket in India confirmed only his absence from the domestic Twenty20 tournament, but his IPL team, the Delhi Daredevils, said the 32-year-old will undergo surgery which could hamper his participation in England. "Sehwag's injured shoulder is definitely a concern for everyone," B Vanchi, the director of GMR Sports – the owners of the Daredevils – told the Times of India. "The BCCI has decided that it needs surgery immediately and are making arrangements for him to travel to London." That would certainly rule Sehwag out of the upcoming tour of the West Indies, which begins next month, and, with the first Test against England beginning on 21 July, would at the very least hinder his preparations. India are set to announce the squad for the West Indies tour, their first since the appointment of their new coach, Duncan Fletcher, on Friday. Sehwag has been playing through the pain during this edition of the IPL, but his shoulder problems date back to 2009, when he also needed an operation.
rkt.india Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 For England tour? Why? Why not drop the entire test team + the A team and send our U19 team for the most important test tour, just to try a few young talents out? This is not a chance to try something but will be an opportunity lost for Sehwag to prove himself in England, if he fails to make it to the tour! Sehwag wont be an impact player in England...he will be pretty much like he was against SA there...even Karthik and Jaffer did a great job in England last tour..in 2006....in swinging conditions he is as bad as any other opener.....he failed in SA and that may be case in England too if he plays...do not too much hopes from Sehwag..our main bats will be Gambhir, Dravid, SRT, and VVS...in England...

Dravid will fail in England. I dont know why he is making mockery of himself and should step down. He flopped againt SL,SA & Aus in last series against good teams.
Cricket Tragic Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Gambhir might have his technique exposed and look clueless during this tour but he will fight it out and score some ugly runs. Real fighter.
Ultimate_Game Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Gambhir might have his technique exposed and look clueless during this tour but he will fight it out and score some ugly runs. Real fighter. Batting should not be a major concern for us. We should be able to score runs but I hope Zaheer is well rested and fit come the Eng tour. If Zaheer, Sreesanth, Munaf and Ishant are on song we should win the series. Maybe RP Singh can get a look-in as well as he usually does well outside the subcontinent.
maingz Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 guys, we are all overreacting here. He is not the answer to our prayers!!! I have tried to tell you before. Swann will tear him to pieces if he plays not to mention the deceiving off breaks from KP. Ideal opportunity to give Dhawan a go
